I used to come here pretty often and i was never really disappointed. but our last visit was actually disappointing. our tom yum soup was great and it was the best part of the meal (imean how can you screw up tom yum) however our peanut stir fry with steamed vegetables was not very good. the veggies were a little too raw for our liking and there was hardly any peanut sauce!! (the best part!). also our calimari tasted frozen and it was VERY rubbery and kind of stringy/hard to eat! gross! but the absolute worst part about this place, is the main dining room. there is absolutely NO sound insulation in this room. hardwood floors, tall angled ceiling, and one of the walls is brick. it is like a sound pressure chamber in there. if there is ONE group of loud people, good luck trying to order, talking to your partner, or eating dinner without a raging headache. seriously we both left with headaches last time and i regret not asking earlier to move tables. that dining room sucks. sorry, but it ruins the experience. put up some acoustic drapes on the walls or some acoustic panels on the ceiling guys. this room is so uncomfortable to be in. i couldnt imagine having to work in it. hence the rating i have given.

I will start by saying…. I normally do not give a poor review without a good reason. My crew mate and I went in search of Thai food…. We went to one place before this one but the vibe was just off. We got to this place Skewered Thai and at first it was wonderful, the ambiance the small space just wonderful. We ordered a bottle of wine, appetizers, then the entrees. Our servers name is MAY. As soon as the entree came so followed the check ( as to say hurry up ) Every few minutes after she kept coming back to our table and asking if everything was ok and were we ready for a to go boxes, we had just gotten the entree. I ask one of the staff were they closing and he said “ we close at 2100 “ here is was 2030. I am paying attention now and we were the only table being asked so many times if we were ready, not even the folks that walked in at 2015. I will say though the food 🥘 is amazing but the service from MAY is poor. Don’t let my experience prevent you from some good Thai food just have a different server.

Another Thai gem in Salt Lake City. Across from Whole Foods in an old house #SkeweredThai is a warm, charming restaurant that delivers informed, friendly service and amazing food. We started with luscious #ChickenDumplings handmade and served in a spicy green curry sauce. #LarbChickenSalad made with Chopped meat tossed with onion, chili, cilantro, toasted rice powder, mint leaf, and lime juice. Served with sticky rice to soak up the lovely dressing. Mains included #PineappleChickenCurry made with Coconut milk, red curry, pineapple, bell pepper, and Thai basil. A yummy chicken #PadKeeMao #DrunkenNoodle Pan fried flat rice noodle, with egg, bell pepper, mushroom, carrot, broccoli, chilli, tomato, and Thai basil. They make the dishes fresh and per order so we had the mushrooms left out for allergy reasons. Throw in a couple of #ThaiMimosas with passion fruit and you have a wonderful dining experience. Definitely worth a return visit or 3 #skeweredthaislc #drunkennoodleswithchicken

We are in town for a little visit and we wanted to get Thai food for dinner, so we found this place, high review, thought we’ll have a great dinner time. As we arrived, we walked in with a big smile, and the person ignored us, so we walked up, and said there’s two us, at this time, the person who “looked” for a table, continued to ignore us, but it’s fine, I’ll take it for the good food. As we placed the order, got our food, and finished, I asked for a box (during this short time, we were not checked at once, but other tables were checked with a very friendly tone, we were not treated this way, which at this point, I felt offended already and pissed off). As we are getting ready to go, I asked for a fork, the person who took my card and our check, the moment I asked for a fork, they freaking side eyed and gave us a very bad attitude. It’s wrong that we got treated this way, but food wise, it’s good, but not good enough for us to be treated in a way we don’t deserve.

Right on 700 E opposite Whole Foods near downtown, this is a small book packed with a punch in terms of tasty Thai cuisine. Mostly street side parking - that parking lot behind the house is a bit crammed - the place bustles at the peak of its service. While the menu is the usual Thai dishes you would come across in any Thai restaurant, the quality, speed of service, and the taste will bring you back here. One dish that stood out was the green curry fried rice. That was a first. The brown rice bowl is something unique to this place. Made from black glutinous rice and jasmine rice, it tastes good and is filling The portions are decent for the price. Price may be a tad bit higher but then it is a prime location too. Menu is deep enough for you to go fishing into it multiple times. Definite place to add to favorite eateries in the valley.

Fantastic lunch special!! $10 (pre-tax), and there's a decent variety for a lunch menu (two types of curry, two noodle dishes, several stir-fried options, both meat and vegetarian options). You get a small salad first, which I quite liked. And then you get a spring roll with your meal. I got the yellow curry and stir-fried Thai basil (chicken with both of those). I got a level 3 spicy (out of 5). If you don't like spicy stuff, get 1. If you don't mind spicy stuff, or if you like a little, 2 is solid. I think 3, 4, and 5 are all the same, and it's definitely spicy; I had to blow my nose after, and I can still feel the warmth in my belly, haha. Overall, a fantastic lunch special if you're feeling Thai food!! This is probably my favorite Thai restaurant in SLC. Really good amount of food for the price.
