The merchants in this center aren't responsible for this, but the parking lot here can be...an adventure. Local Sugarhouse building codes require that parking lots be placed behind the buildings, so that the buildings front onto the sidewalk/street, which might be esthetically pleasing, but it makes getting in and out of the lots much more of a hassle. It isn't too bad during normal business hours on a weekday, but on weekends or (gods help you) around the holidays, and you might spend more time trying egress the lot than you spent shopping. However, this shopping center has one feature that makes it worth a visit even if you don't buy anything: Hidden Hollow, a nice little nature walk pathway that connects by underground tunnel to Sugarhouse Park. The plaques along the walk tell the interesting history of the place, and although not very big, it's a beautiful little slice of nature on a warm, sunny day. Read moreThey are pretty good. Nice selection of food, shopping, books, crafts, gaming, comic books etc. The prices tend to be high middle of the road for the stores. Hit movies on Tuesday's for $5.34 tickets on any kind of tickets at the Century theater. Parking is not the best so you may be walking in from across the parking lot. Also Shopko and Toy's R Us are no longer here. W/in a couple blocks of the Street Car which meets up w/ the rest of the trax lines at central point IE 2100 south and almost 300 west (head east from the shopping plaza for the Street Car stop) and a bus runs north and south on 11th east. It is west of Sugarhouse Park. Also a block from one of the better state liquor stores due south on 11th east. Other shopping plazas are just north of it and have additional food (all kinds both savory and sweet) and things like a Barnes and Noble and the Sprague Library are a block or so north on 11th east. Whether it be the Sugar House theatres with those lovely recliners or Tsunami sushi next door followed by TCBY yogurt for desert, you will not lack for things to do and see. There's all kinds of shopping and specialty shops and don't forget to stop at Whole Foods to pick up something for dinner before going to your car.
