San Antonio turns out to be a historic old town in Texas, and most visitors here are white folks. Downtown parking is crazy expensive—starts at $30 per night 😱 Hotel valet? $45 and up 😨 Hotel: @hotelgibbssanantonio Chose this one because it’s the cheapest 😏 and the location isn’t bad. Built in 1909, it still has the original elevator doors, though the rooms are renovated (still pretty small). The Alamo is right downstairs. A short walk takes you to the Riverside Walk. It was packed at night because of the Super Bowl. The boat ride costs around $10+—almost went for it, but after strolling around, didn’t feel the need. Came back during the day to see both the night and daytime views 👀 The other spots are historic sites outside downtown, about a 10-minute drive away—three in the same area but spread out. At 9 PM, there’s a 25-minute light show at the church entrance—gorgeous, too much to capture in photos… Way more homeless people here than in Austin (only saw a handful there). Compared to Dallas and Houston from past trips, plus this Austin visit, SA feels like a lonely old town—barely any Chinese folks around either… 🙃 #SanAntonio #TexasTravel #HistoricTown #Alamo #RiversideWalk #TravelDiaries #SuperBowl #LightShow #OldTownVibes
