Truthfully I'm not normally a customer but a former employee here. It's opened 9 am to 5 pm. It's open every single day except Christmas, that's the only day the Alamo is closed except for extreme weather that rarely happens. Fall isn't always the best time to shop here due to inventory approaching/happening, October should be when we get back to nearly full stock so please be patient with us. We'll try our best to find you what you want but sometimes we're out of stock for that item. Also we can't show/sell you your photos because the photos aren't part of the giftshop. Those would be by the door of the giftshop. Photos and the giftshop are different departments. Another also, there's a website for the giftshop so it's possible to order what you know will cause trouble if you're flying home. Best way to buy from a distance is over the phone. Every so often we stop selling some items and...

Shop there on May 8th. Purchased 2 items. Flew home May 9th after gift shop was closed. Which I did not open until I got home. Unpacked my purchase and discovered that one of the items was missing. Called gift shop today, left message. Received return call. Spoke with manager. Informed him of the problem. He stated nothing he could do. He started "That he couldn't prove if I received the item or not." Made me feel like I was trying to get something for nothing. I asked if I gave him the item # if he could check. He said no. So then I asked if i could be refunded the amount I am now out. He stated the same thing as above. Basically I'm S.O.L. Be sure to double check items you purchased. You may have a problem with this too . They maybe trying to sell items twice,for...

I called to order a cap for my son and was transferred to the "manager" to place the order to be shipped - I checked my bank for the transaction an hour later and I find that my card had been used to purchase products online from Macy's - when I called back to discuss the order I was told that Stephanie would call me back the next day - today I get a call from "the manager" the same guy who took my card information and he proceeds to deny any wrongdoing - when I asked why he was calling instead of Stephanie I was told "she is in arm's length of me" if you want to speak to her; plus, my Order was never placed. BEWARE OF YOUR CREDIT CARD AND DOING BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE- the manager could have cared less and obviously the "director" doesn't either. It's YOUR...

Before entering into the Alamo building the lady staff took pictures of us saying if we go to the gift shop you’ll get the postcard for free. That was very tricky line as she didn’t mention about the price of photo but directed us to the shop and when we went there with the QR code they printed out before telling us the price and told us $38 for two photos!!!! Ridiculous Don’t waste the money if you don’t wanna photo but they said that’s for Alamo maintenance… 🤨 But since we didn’t know the price we didn’t buy it but if you know don’t wanna photo that much don’t bring the QR code. That’ll waste the photos. For the shop here, many gifts are available! It’s cool to see options! Anyways, cheers 🥂

TLDR: Tourist trap from hell Photos & Reasons below "GIFTS" Branded random crap. They put the Alamo on the most random items and sell them completely overpriced (Bullets, Mini Tumbler, Shotglasses, Swiss Army Knifes, etc). The rest of the store contains the most random selection of goods with most advertising false claims (check websites to see if it's really hand crafted). *PHOTOS* They use ambush marketing. At points throughout the visit, they attempt to take photos of you and your party, direction you to the giftshop for a free photo thing. Once they scan your photo QR code, they print physical copy's of the photos before saying you can buy them and the online ones for $35 dollars.

IT's a neat little gift shop smack dab in the center of the Alamo itself. The building is very big, clean, well, kept and just nice to look at inside and out. IT's pretty busy, I didnt get anything because the things I wanted were pricey but...the service looked like they knew what they were doing and seemed polite enough. My only complaints are those prices mentioned and...admittedly I dunno if its ETHICAL to turn one of the historic buildings in the Alamo into a gift shop but...what do I know, right? Edit: Added a front picture, nothing from inside as it was REALLY crowded!
