Eco Boat Rentals — Attraction in San Diego

Russ and Kate(owners) are absolutely AMAZING!! They have a warm and kind welcoming personality that makes you feel like family. My family and I are obsessed with the unique fun experience they offer by the bay. The views and the experience of being in the bay are unreal. What makes it worth coming back is Russ and Kate along with the great team they have created. They are truly the definition of kindness. We have taken the Glow Boat Ride at night twice and we love it. You can bring snacks and a warm blanket. They offer a speaker which you can use to play your own music. You have to try the EcoBoat experience…it’s something fun and not as expensive to do in the SD Bay. Perfect for couples and families or with friends. Since you will be sitting in the boat for an hour or two depending on your package be sure to use the restroom before you go on and be punctual. Being there 10-15 minutes early gives you enough time to use the restroom and get an overview of the directions. Make sure to charge your phone since they go around to take pictures of you while you’re in the boat. Overall always an AWESOME time and already can’t wait to go...

EcoBoat Rentals is top-notch, and well maintained. Their crew, Russ, Kate, Jake, Zoe, kirra, and Josh are very polite and friendly when talking to customers, as well as being thorough with instructions about both paddleboats and pedal kayaks. They made sure to explain how they were taking extra precautions by cleaning both boats and handrails after each use with peroxide, bleach and water. We were given safety instructions after payment for a peddle boat, and where we could and couldn’t go. Once out on the water it was super nice and flat, mild wind, and calm water. We saw sea lions, pelicans, other boats, and more! Once out in the open towards the main channel, the water did get a little choppy. the boat handled super well and it didn’t rock around. it was a very enjoyable ride. Once back at the dock, they helped us out and answered any questions we had. We came back the following week to rent some pedal kayaks to do some fishing as well! We rented two pedal boats from Eco Boat Rentals, and the experience was amazing from start to finish! We didn’t have a reservation in advance but just walked in, and the team was super helpful in getting us set up on the spot. (You can also book online—it’s easy, but we weren’t sure what time we’d arrive.)

Christian and Cesar took great care of us. They gave clear, detailed instructions on how to operate the boats and where to go using their route map. Each boat even had a small waterproof map with the safety crew’s phone number, which made us feel really secure knowing help was just a call away if needed.

We spent about an hour on the water on a beautiful sunny day in San Diego Bay. After about 15 minutes of pedaling, we reached an area with a stunning view of Downtown San Diego. We hung out there for a while, took photos, and even spotted a couple of sea lions and tons of seabirds.

After the ride, we grabbed lunch at Point Loma Seafoods, which is right next door—super convenient! Overall, it was the perfect little getaway. Affordable, relaxing, and something we’ll be doing again when we are back...
