LOOK at ALL the furniture they show for sale in ALL their photos on their website, etc. ALL of it looks like used furniture you can find on the street for garbage pick-up, like when someone replaces old furniture with new purchases, etc. Sure enough, the 1st Google review I read said 3 matching dressers a person bought & asked for delivery, arrived with all kinds of dings, chips & spaces & miss-alignments in the way some of the drawers open and close.
He complained & asked them to be replaced, & after probably 6 months of waiting, they re-delivered the same 3 dressers! I found this place looking at a business right next to it on Google Maps & clicked on it's name: Room&Board, thinking, "What's this, a service to find a free place to live including free meals, in exchange for helping out in some way? I clicked on it's name, & saw it said furniture store, & it had lots of pictures of fully furnished room lay-outs, like the furniture floors at Macy's & Bloomingdale's have on their perimeter, only ALL of the Room&Board's furniture in all their pictures looks like used furniture you can find on the street FOR FREE, or for low low prices at Goodwill or the Salvation Army!
I'd suggest reading ALL the Google reviews via Google search of Room & Board in San Francisco or Google Maps listing of Room & Board from their map to see if there are more similar reports, as a 1st step, way before buying or ordering anything. Read moreWorst experience ever. I purchased three Emerson 36w 18d 35h, Three-Drawer Dresser, on Feb 2022. They delivered them after two months. I noticed that there were uneven gaps between drawers and chips and dings. I raised the issue with the driver. However, he said that I have to go through the exchange process. I raised a ticket, and the customer rep said I would have to wait additional four months. Time passed, and in July of 2022, they finally scheduled my replacement delivery on 8/25/22. On 8/20/22, I received an e-mail saying delivery would be made on 8/22/22. Of course, no delivery was made on 8/22/22. I called customer support on 8/25/22 to make sure I would receive the product. Interestingly, they said delivery would not be made because their delivery truck is currently in Los Angeles. They asked me to wait another two weeks.
I was very agitated, but I decided to wait. On 9/9/22, they came without calling me ahead (the e-mail said they would), and when I saw the dressers they were as bad as the first ones. I gave the company seven months to fix the issue, but they failed. I finally had it and requested a refund. When I checked the refund, they were not giving me a full refund. They explained that sales tax went down (which is not true) and that they would not refund the delivery fee even though the products were defective. Read moreDefinitely an expensive place to buy furnitures. Their furnitures looks nice and the onsite staff are helpful on designing. BUT, their service kept going south after your ordered the furniture. For continuously three months, I kept receiving emails from them indicating the estimated availability date would be postponed by another month. After I complained they offered to schedule delivery furnitures that are already in their warehouse, but the earliest delivery date is month away. There was nothing I could do but accepting the fact I had to wait for another month. So I confirmed a delivery date. Then two weeks later as I logged in the Room and Board account, I found one of the available order was not scheduled!! Nobody told me what happened and as I called, the staff at Room and Board didn't know what happened either. They kept saying they were sorry but again, there was nothing they could do but made me wait another 4 weeks. No matter how nice the furniture looked in the showroom, it was very disappointed experience shopping there. Buying furnitures is a very big purchase and should have been joyful. Now I feel I made a good decision that I didn't by other furnitures from them. If so, how much more time would have been wasted! ? Definitely not...
