Simply the very least boring place on the waterfront of Seattle. Burgandy is an amazingly gifted painter, who can do photo realistic portraits of your dog, cat, or family, as well as the most fantastical surreal images that translate from her vision onto canvas in high-contrast explosion of colors.
Come with your 3D glasses and those paintings will explode out of their canvasses!
You can come watch her paint as only someone with fanatical attention to the smallest details can do. Dozens of tiny little brushes add the rich texture to what could have been just flat, color-by-number works. Even if you can’t afford a painting, she has reasonably priced prints, cards and stickers to fill up your space with graphic color.
There is so much there to see, not just her extraordinary paintings. She shows the work of other Seattle artists, painters, jewelers, photographers, candle makers, graphic artists, soap makers, even the trippy baby onesies of local guerilla tie-dye guru, Steve Potter.
This isn’t some exclusive, you-have-to-know-someone-to-be-here kind of gallery. Burgandy is so lovely, warm and welcoming. This absolute gem is a must see when you are on the waterfront, whether you’re a visitor or native Seattleite. Truly a pure manifestation of creative Seattle, grounded in...
Read moreBurgandy not only paints stunningly beautiful pieces, she is also an absolute GEM of a human being! My fiancé and I were exploring the pier and were drawn in by the mesmerizing colors. As we walked in, Burgandy was there actively painting a new piece. We were greeted with a warm smile and hello, and Burgandy handed us some special glasses which make the paintings appear 3D. As you look at the paintings, the colors dance and change with the different LED lights. We had a nice long chat and she explained the science of how her paintings interact with the different wave lengths of LED lights, and she shared a bit of her story that lead her to start painting in this style. We were only able to purchase a few (BEAUTIFUL) post cards at this time, but we absolutely plan to purchase a few larger pieces in the future.
If I could give Burgandy and her art shop 10 stars I would! If you are in the area and enjoy art, you absolutely...
Read moreAbsolutely Amazing. Owner is one of the nicest small business owners I've ever met. Her art is gorgeous and unique. I just randomly walked in as it was at the pier, but this is no ordinary boutique. Her art is handpainted, time consuming one of a kind pieces. What's so different is that each have a special effect that allows you to see it in an all new light through a special lens. I have never seen anything like it. If your a tourist, don't pass by the unassuming storefront, inside is a little shop of wonders. You won't find this...
