I live over in the Redmond area, though I went out of my way to visit this store as I am a bit familiar with them both from previous visits to the ID store and from Youtube. I am looking to move soon, so I wanted to sell most of my game collection to make the transition a bit easier.
I brought in what ended up to be a $2000+ offer of game trades (mostly Pokémon games). I talked with the gentleman at the counter about what I could get for different kinds of games and due to the load of what I was attempting to sell he told me that we would break down the prices after he went through everything to see what I actually wanted to get rid of. I agreed as I did have quite a few games.
An hour later or so later, they came up with the estimate for my entire collection and put it at over 2K. Though when I tried to initiate the breakdown of what I was actually selling, the manager came over and told me that they could not spend anymore time with me due to being there over an hour, and to hurry up.
Sorry if this is out of place, but if I bring in games that add up to a trade in cash value of over 2K, I think an hour of time is justified. These games are going to be turned around and presumingly sold at over double the value, making them worth around (or more likely much over) 2k in pure profit. The reason I even came to the store and took that hit was simply due to the fact that I did not want to deal with Craigslist game collectors.
As more of a business and politics person that I am instead of a gamer, this was both extremely unprofessional and rude as I was told at the start that we would break it down afterword's. Then to get pressured at the end to say that I was a drain on your time? Really! I fix computers for a living and guess what! Some things take time. Especially in the case where the offer...
Read moreThe owners is nice as well as some of the staff. And they know their games and consoles to the T. However I do find their pricing when bringing in gently used consoles in favor of purchasimg one of theirs a bit...outlandish the consol i bought in was a ps3 a few scratches on the baby but still in basically out of the box condition. I went to sell it to them for one of their back playing consoles. They low balled me only giving me a $25 store credit. The consol I purchased was $130.00 it had stress marks ( like when you bend plastic it is lighter in other places), scratches and was clearly not well taken care of by the previous user. I bought it any way because my siblings wanted it reallly bad. I recommend buying systems their out right and not trading in newer ones that are in better condition. Other than that patronize the place they have games , items, anf vintage consoles and games even ones in japanese . which is wicked sweet . and I want to say they do test all their consoles to the highest endeavor so the ps3 that backplays that I bought does work just fine its just not worth $130.00 for the...
Read moreIt was nice to finally get an opportunity to check out a well known store that I wanted to visit for years. Their inventory did not disappoint me at all since I was looking forward to buying many imports they had available. Though there was an issue when I walked in the door. I wasn't greeted, one of the associates was watching me extra hard, and finally when I needed assistance the same associated would be in a hasty mood if like they wanted me to leave. Because of that, I was unable to ask for the other games that I need the person to get for me. It's a real shame since I drove 3.5 hrs just to check out the place (I did went to the cafe nextdoor). The reason why I think person was super tense was the fact that the store had a few break ins here and there. Overall I wouldn't mind going back to the store to shop there again as a way to support them. I have no Ill will towards the individual. I want them to stay open like any other retro game store I've been to the past few years and hopefully the next time I visit there will be...
