To any who take the time to read this review, if you are thinking of going to a movie at Harkins Sedona 6, make sure you ask the folks behind the glass before you pay to go to the movie you want to see, if the movie is in theatre's 1 or 2. This information is very important to you all and is no where else to be found anywhere?? I am advising this because the other 4 theatre's are small, small, small and smaller with mostly old used up seats in all 4 of them AT AN ANGLE to screens which are no bigger than what is now available in several big screen tv's being offered for in home media rooms.. ok, maybe not but pretty darn close! I stress here that a bigger person will not sit in these other 4 theatre's for very long, if at all, as when entering theatre's 3-4-5 and 6 you will think someone is playing a huge joke on you if you are not a local, and if you are a local and you chose to go anyway, as a "bigger person" I just don't understand? Now for the smaller of persons, these theatre's with the small screens, angled seats, horrible sound and a big head in front of you, I ask,"why would you pay expensive movie price's for the movie experience you will have in these theatre's when you are better off waiting for your movie choice to come to your local "red box" or PAY FOR VIEW or drive to Flag?" Cost is less and you can make your own popcorn!!!! I have been a movie go'er for my entire life everywhere I have lived and visited and these 4 theatre's are an affront to my lifelong movie going experience!
P.S. To Harkins family! Please stop punishing Sedona locals and travelers that have no idea what horrendous movie experience these 4 theatre's offer for the same price as the bigger theatre's 1 and 2! Why can't you take these 4 awful theatre's and make 2 decent ones?????? mark sheythe, a...
Read moreHarkins theater in Sedona is a perfect example of greed, as this establishment is way too small with several tiny theaters you don't even get a discounted price for. It is always very clean, employees are always professional and respectful, and have never gotten bad service. The point here is actually pretty simple though. I would remodel this place to have two large screen theaters and they would make more money instantly. It is outdated and does not have stadium seating. I have often wondered for years why no one else builds a nice theater in the area, considering the average age is over 60.
On this visit I actually bought popcorn, which I never ever do. It was $6.50 for a little tiny small bag which is absolutely preposterous considering you can buy a three pack of popcorn at the grocery store to make yourself for less than $4. But that's how theaters make money, so most people put up with it.
It is a nice break if you are a tourist and tired from hiking and maybe it's raining. Other than that, there's really no reason to go to this theater and wait till you get home to see something on a huge screen with...
Read moreWent to see the new Jurassic Park movie, theater felt over sold and was not able to sit with my family even though we arrived 10 minutes early. We had already purchased our tickets so we did not have to waste time in line and went straight into the auditorium. Only seat I could find was up front after the movie started I discovered the couple behind me had brought their young child 2-3 years old. I was surprised they were allowed to bring such a young child to see such a gory movie, more so that the parents did not get a babysitter so the child would not get traumatized. For more then half the movie the whole row had to put up with whining, crying and chair bumping. We asked the parents to keep it down and they ignored our request. Theater was told and they grudgingly gave a replacement ticket for the movie, the apology did not feel sincere at all. To top it off the popcorn...
