What's up Google people ? It's been a while and it's good to see your smilin faces. I'm James Marky Mark and I am Georgia!! Now I don't want to get to deep into things because you know how that rolls. So let me say this. I think everybody knows if you have yourself a near death experience you supposed to go to Vegas. If by chance you can't get to Vegas,, there try be reasons.. Well then you make art. Having said all that I found myself over at this particular Michaels art supply. Now I'm an artsy person anyway,, Yes I'm artsy and have lived all over this state so I been in many a Michaels. This one felt more like one or them discount warehouse places. Not because the prices were all that great e[ither. It just kelt unoriginized and cluttered. Now you know what momma always said. Luckily an awesome selection and a fun kinda wacky crew made it worth my while. I did have to go find an associate to unlock some pens . I asked her if they carriied mechanical pencils and she was tellin me no as I was pickinem up. Then I was asking about a detailed eraser and she said she had never heard of that but was sure they didn't havem about the time I was picking it up. Ok ok it's ok. I have worked in retail many times and I never knew where everything was. It was real close to closing time and I always hated them last minute so and so's myself. So I'm checking out right and this lady keeps running my merchandise over the little demagnetize thingy and I'm looking at her and she's looking at me. She says I just wanna make sure you ain't buzzin at the door and I says not till I get...
Read moreI visited this location with my 13-year-old daughter, who was excited to start a craft project. She found a ceramic beehive on an end cap display, but every single one was visibly scuffed, discolored, or otherwise dingy—nowhere near the condition you’d expect for a new item on the shelf.
I brought this to the attention of an employee—a young woman with long braids—hoping to flag the issue. Her response? “They’re supposed to be painted—you can prime and paint over it.” No concern. No acknowledgment that the product looked worn or handled. Just dismissal.
Despite my hesitation, I brought the least dingy one to the register, along with several other items my daughter had picked out. Still uneasy, I asked the cashier if a modest discount could be offered. She called for a manager.
Who shows up? The same dismissive employee. Still no empathy. Just a flat, “It’s not damaged.”
Under normal circumstances I would have walked out and left everything behind. But my daughter was eager to work on her project, so I made the purchase. What I was at least able to do was have a conversation with her afterward—about how not to talk to customers. Even if the answer had remained the same, I would have appreciated a trace of empathy, compassion, or real assurance. Instead, I was met with a tone and attitude that fell far short of what anyone should expect from someone supposedly...
Read moreMy wife & I came in to get matting & glass cut for 3 separate 5x7 pictures for a gift over a month ago. When we placed our original order, the Michael's employee working the framing counter was less than friendly and seemed like she wasn't listening to us. This became apparent when we arrived 2 weeks later to pick up our order. (2 weeks is their standard turn-around time) We discovered that not only did she get the order completely wrong, but we were also overcharged $40 because the employee ordered something we never asked for. She told us it would take an additional 2 weeks to get the corrected order in, and was still less than friendly. When we arrived today to pick up the order, they almost got the order correct but for some reason they gave us black picture mats instead of the white mats we had ordered. Unfortunately we didn't have the option to make them re-do the order again a 3rd time, as it was for a thank you gift that was already a few weeks late due to the store's original mis-order. I would not suggest using this store for any of your framing needs, as the employees working that area do not seem to have any experience nor did they seem...
