Customer service is a hit or a miss, I walk in no greeting. I normally frequent another Michael's that has cashiers ring me up so when I came to this one I was standing in line, two workers were up at the registers talking to each other. Another customer at the photo machine. I waited for a couple of minutes and I hadn't noticed the self checkout "sign" since it was my first time at this location. I look at the machines see that they are self checkout and start ringing myself up. The two workers ignored me and the other customer that needed help at the photo machine. Then someone else gets in line, greet them immediately and say that there is self checkout or they can ring them up. Not sure if it was complete disregard for the customers. But a couple of businesses in Surprise seem to treat me differently than other customers. I say this because the other customer who was also ignored was hispanic. When the people after us came up they were greeted and helped out they also happened to be Caucasian. I gave 3 stars because on my second visit I ordered online to not have to deal with their workers but the order was incomplete. The person at the front was no help just standing there doing nothing. I went to go find the items myself to no avail. I stopped a worker and she was kind and able to help me, a tall young lady who was organizing fall items. Wish I would've gotten her name she was extremely nice and willing to help even though she was actually busy. Read moreIf I could give -5 stars I would. I have been coming to this Michael’s for almost 2 years now and have been treated rude every single time to by staff. Everytime I’ve gone to this location, they don’t have any cash registers open just the self check out, anytime there is an issue while checking out I will be ignored even with multiple staff standing behind the counter in the small room to the side. I’ve actually left 3 times because I was waiting and they were standing there with their back to me, talking.
Today takes the cake though, my older mom who is visiting came in to grab some items, she is not familiar with this store at all and asked a shorter large employee where an item was and the employee gave an extreme rude look at my mother, rolled her eyes and pointed to the item. She didn’t say a word, her entire demeanor was absolutely awful. My mother asked another employee, who was awful very rude for the manager due to the absolute awful attitude this employee had towards my mom. The manager came out and was AWFUL. Didn’t apologize, didn’t offer to address the employee and use it as a coaching moment. She was horrid. I have been a front of house manager, I’ve been a customer service manager, I work in customer service now…and this is AWFUL. I will be sending this to higher ups as well, but hoping that management can take this opportunity to learn and do better and teach their employees better as well. Read moreI normally love this Michael’s the workers are normally nice and very helpful but today I had place a pickup order and to my surprise it was marked completed so early! I I know it’s Sunday and businesses open a little later but The store hours are 10-6 today but curbside was 9-5 showed which was weird because I thought the store wasn’t open why would they bring me the order and they aren’t open. Anyway I was already out running errands so I stopped there and legit waited until the 9am mark so I could say I was at curbside. When 9:01 hit it reloaded and asked if I was there and what spot. Not very long after a gentleman come out of the store, shoves the order at me and says “in the future we don’t open until 10 it says it on the door” and starts to walk away from my car I then said “oh I’m sorry I never walked up to the door since it was curbside and both messages you guys send about my order says 9 you should fix it “ “Like I said we open at 10”
I truly hope this man has a better day because he is gonna push something at the wrong person and get a rude awaking. I work customer service and understand what it entails, being rude isn’t in the job description and there’s a better way to share information so that you hopefully don’t get a negative response back from a client.
