This was the worst experience I have ever had in a movie theater in my 46 years being on the earth! In the last 40 years I can recall going to a movie theater. First of all, I understand itâs in a University environment but the AMC was the lowest class I have ever seen!!!!
Let me say I picked that place accidentally, I meant to pick Desert Ridge AMC 18 in Phoenix on Tatum. My wife got confused with the outside mall that looks identical to Deset Ridge in Glendale. So we decided to give it a try. First of all, itâs tiny! My sonâs seat recliner was BROKEN. Itâs Very ugly red colors, donât be fooled with the glamorous pictures posted online that are probably when it first opened.
Secondly, At the concession stand, the girl kept getting our orders wrong , we asked for 3 popcorns and 3 drinks. Then I added 1 more drink and popcorn. Thatâs 4 ! She gave us 1 popcorn and 4 drinks. We paid $50 for 4 drinks and 1 regular popcorn, then after we paid an additional $25 for 2 more popcorn. She forgot to charge us for an additional popcorn, so we paid for an additional popcorn BUT she forgot to give it to us! I had so many things in my hands, my wife asked me where was the last popcorn. When I went back to get it, she was so overwhelmed that she forgot to give it to me. ( we got there at 6:10 for a 6:30 showing) no one was there until the last part. She also reassured me that popcorn is fresh and butter is new with expiration date. She told me I could go to her for a refund if I had an issue with popcorn. My popcorn was beyond SALTY!!! I tried hiding the unbearable salt with some âfresh â butter, my stomach started bothering me into the beginning of the movie after 30 minutes of previews. I ate 1/4 of popcorn before my stomach started hurting. It was a small room with an average big screen and the sound omg! No Dolby no surround sound whatsoever! It felt like being home and choosing to keep the volume low. People kept coming in and out in the middle of the movie. A light shines through a dark theater every time someone opens it.
In conclusion, the movie Jurassic World was an 8, not bad but definitely do NOT waste your hard earned money there! They claim to validate parking, ( which I did!) but I still had to pay $12 for parking! Family of 5, spent $200 on a crappy movie theaters and horrible regular popcorn ( just 4 regular) soft drinks and parking! I didnât want to ruin the night for my family so my wife and I chose to leave it alone, write a review, let anyone and everyone know who may ask us about AMC centerpoint in Tempe. It got like 1 star because it is situated on a beautiful street, that is it! By the way out of the $200, over $100 was spent on popcorn drinks and parking! Horrible experience! I wouldnât wish it on my worst enemy to watch a...
Read moreMy fiancĂ© and I went to AMC Tempe. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with nothing but attitude. The teen girl working ticket booth was acting like a teenage girl. SoâŠ. I just looked past it.
When on to order food. Well, the lady behind the counter (we will call her Karen) acted like she was bothered that we were there. Rude from the time we walked up. I asked her. â how is your day going?â She was like, âwhat did you sayâ. I repeated. She let us know that she was in pain and she should have just called off. I continued to keep a positive attitude with her. And she continued to be rude. I ask her name and she was like for what? I was like youâre being rude as hell. She responded by saying no Iâm not why you coming at me like that. And started calling a manager. When she was running at the mouth, she seemed to be feeling just fine. Robert the supervisor came out. I told him what happen and I wanted my money back so that I could leave. He agreed. He really did not have much to say but he was the only thing pleasant walking around at the movies.
The place was an absolute mess. It was empty. Iâm sure only because fireworks were happening across the valley. The floors were dirty. The back where the food is prepared, trashed. All while the kids were playing in the front. And while, Karen was leaned over acting like she was coming down. Clean the place up. I went to enjoy the movie. Not get treated like crap before I can even get to my seat. We have to do better as management. Donât think they would have acted that way if the leadership was any better. Iâm sure we can all agree that it starts at the top and comes down to the bottom. Employees are a direct reflection of their leadership. I will speak to the corporate office about the entire situation. Itâs not hard to be kind daily. We all have...
