My sister and I had just shopped at Sally's right next door, so I had a plastic Sally's bag on my wrist and my wallet and phone in my hand when we walked into Hallmark. We weren't greeted upon entry even though I saw two employees by the counter. My sister and I were looking around and I eventually went to the Vera Bradley section on the right side of the store. They had a lot of little coin purses inside a dish. To get a better look, and in order to open them, I put my wallet and phone inside the plastic Sally's bag. At this point one of the employees walks towards me and asks if I'm finding things okay, I say yes, and keep looking at the coin purses. My sister asks me to look at something on the glass shelves and as I walk to her, the employee follows me, and stared at us. (Ive worked in retail so i know the steps to take when you think someone is shoplifting. But i also know that in order to accuse someone of shoplifting, you have to know what the person has and where they put the item. The employees didnt even greet us, I didnt have anything to shoplift anyway, I knew the employee was pushing.) My sister and I make our way to the Vera Bradly section (with the employee following) and discuss the crossbodies. My sister then walks a little further and before I walk away the employee asks "did Sally's have any good sales?" And "what all did you get?" I tell the employee that I bought some dye for my hair and she asks what's inside my bag. I take out the wallet and show her that it's mine, she then forces a laugh and insists she meant the actuall products I purchased, saying that she herself needs dye. She asks what's in my bag, so I open up the bag for her to look inside, I'm pissed and it's all over my face. She looks back up at me and plays it off. I give her a quiet eyeroll and walk away. I let my sister know what happened, and even though I did want to purchase something, my sister insisted we take our...
Read moreI have been going to this location for over 20 years. Sometimes the service is spotty but oh well. Today I went in with a 20% discount from Rachaels for my birthday. The lady at the counter was nice and told me that if I spent more than $100. I would get a free bag. So even with my 20% Birthday discount my bill was $150.00 so she put a bag on top of my purchase. Another woman comes by and says "You can't give her that bag. She already got a discount"!!! I said " Where does it say that?" This is a birthday gift from the store and I still spent over $100.00. She pulls the bag off and puts it on the floor and says "You don't get it"!!! THIS IS HOW YOU LOSE BUSINESS. Because some bad attitude person doesn't have the customer service attitude that even makes sense. Just wants to be snippy and mean. No one will read...
Read moreI have been taking my family here for the past couple of years. I wanted the tradition of picking a new ornament every year to help build our collection. Unfortunately, this will be the last time I visit this store. When we were browsing the ornaments, an employee kept coming up to us and talking to us. Not in a good friendly way. She kept looking at my husband's pants pockets and hoodie pocket like we were stealing. It was very insulting and made me feel uncomfortable. If you honestly believe that thieves are out to steal your Christmas ornaments of all things, then maybe you should install a security camera and accuse people in private. You lost good customers by treating us the way you did. We are honest hard working people. Rest assured we will never come back...
