In NY, still there are some places where you will not feel welcomed for your race, religion, how you look or how you dress, I believe this place is one of those. That’s should be enough to express how we felt while bowling 🎳 here!
IN A RESPONSE TO THE PERSON WHO RESPONDED TO THE REVIEW:
You might feel pride what you do with this place! But from my POV, our time in this place was not pleasant and respectful. There are around 29 lanes (don’t remember exact number) in this place. And time was during the summer vacation & some tournaments, It was packed. I saw, there were only two group of people were different than others with brown and black skin. We were little different with our dresses due to our religion. Everyone was playing from my group except me. I was looking around, didn’t take long enough to realize only these two groups were observed intensively. Everyone from the staff seemed to give full attention to these two groups. So, I stepped away from the group, walked by the counter and shocked by hearing, the staff were mocking us for our dress and appearance. I asked my group to leave, but they were saying we have already paid for 2 hours, if we leave now without using our time, we would be the loser not those staff. So, we finished our two hours. I didn’t feel comfortable to talk about this situation when we were returning our shoes.Because staffs who were taking our shoes back, actually the staff who were making those comments.
SO DON’T SAY THAT THIS A LOBBING ACCUSATION, THIS WAS THE WORST & DISRESPECTFUL TREATMENT THAT WE RECEIVED FROM THIS PLACE, MADE ME TO REVIEW THIS...
Read moreWhen I arrived at the establishment, I was immediately met with terrible service. The old lady at the bar was rude and unhelpful when I tried to use Apple Pay, which was incredibly frustrating. When I attempted to load only $5 onto a card, she completely lost her cool and started screaming at me in front of other customers. It was a completely embarrassing experience.
To make matters worse, the atmosphere in the bowling alley was awful. The teenagers behind me were vaping and there were no signs to indicate that smoking wasn't allowed, so I assumed it was okay. However, the older, heavier gentleman at the front desk decided to call me out specifically on the loudspeaker, completely humiliating me in front of everyone. It was so unnecessary and completely unprofessional.
When I finally got around to bowling, I only did so once with my own shoes on because at least half the people there weren't wearing proper bowling shoes. However, the same man who embarrassed us earlier came over and threatened to kick me out if I didn't put on the provided shoes. I asked for a refund for myself, but he refused to give me one, even though I only bowled one frame. It was a complete rip-off and showed a complete lack of customer service.
I have been to Maple Lanes RVC countless times in the past, but after this experience, I will never return. The service was terrible, the atmosphere was unpleasant, and the staff were incredibly rude. It's a shame that such a once-popular establishment has fallen so far from grace. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere for your...
Read moreHave to give them 5 stars for the service and the chill birthday experience my son had yesterday.
While preparing for my son’s 6th bday, I had called them a couple of times for questions and they were patient with me :) I had booked them based on Google reviews and so glad we celebrated my son’s birthday here. The place is clean, the food is great! Everyone raved about the potato and macaroni salad that came with our hero sandwich orders. I liked the veggie hero, hubs liked the fried chicken . I like that the kid bowlers were given choices of what they can eat. I tried the fries too and I was hooked! Even the pizza was great. One of the kids asked for a second serving. :)
They even packed up the remaining for us so no food wasted. Haley and Gabby were so accommodating and nice to our group with adjustment up until the party! Nicole was understanding when I called her about the change in the number of bowlers. Overall, I recommend this family -friendly place whether it’s for a birthday celebration or just for leisure.
