U & I Lounge — Attraction in Traverse City

Ah, the good ole U&I Bar. I was first introduced to this place by my best friend Steve back in 2011. Ever since then, I have become a regular to this place. I always go there and get a U&I Burger and a Corona. The waitresses are always very friendly and polite. Outgoing and good for conversation. The atmosphere is dependent on the time that you are there. Say in the afternoon hours 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM or so, it's very mild. I remember going there at 1:00 PM and I was basically the only one there haha.

However! If you go there anytime past 10:30 PM and especially after 12:00 AM it's going to be LOUD and a little Rowdy. But out of all the places bar wise, I've been the U&I Bar has always been the best of experiences. Where a lot of the other bars are TOO rowdy and no fights break out and egos and overall crazy people are at those bars, I've found that the U&I Bar breaks that stereotype as such, I've never had witnessed excessive puking, bar fighting, or much of any problems there.

It's kept clean and although the bathroom isn't the greatest by any means, it's still better than most bars bathrooms are. But overall though I'd go as far as to say that the U&I Lounge is the best bar of all of Traverse City, Michigan.

I've been thinking about a gyro for the last couple of months and finally decided to go to U and I and get one. I was very very disappointed. I cut it in half because I can't eat the whole thing at once the half I ate had no onion on it no tomato and one little piece of lettuce the meat was not shaved it was big chunks. I will not be going back there again for a gyro so I hope I can find some place in Traverse City that knows how to make them. Last time I got one at U and I but of course that was probably 10-15 years ago they were awesome well they aren't anymore.
