My best friend had been searching for her wedding dress for months like most brides. She finally settled on a gorgeous dress available at Bridal Exclusives in Bridgeport Village. She recieved her dress and started the alterations process. When she came in for her final fitting and her dress had been hemmed 3-4 inches too SHORT. Yes, you read that right they took off length that you cannot get back. The seamstress with 12 years of experience stood there dumbfounded and just kept repeating how she had so much experience and that this rarely happens. RARELY HAPPENS?? This should NEVER happen.
The seamstress promised my friend that she would do everything she could to fix it and that she would have to come back. My friend lives in Seattle. She had to miss work and remain in Portland to deal with Bridal Exclusives mistake. The store manager Hope is an absolute JOKE and should not be in a management position. I had to ask to speak to her multiple times before she showed up to discuss the errors at the front desk. I had to direct the conversation and tell her how she should remedy the terrible mistake they had made. Hope told me that my best friend the bride might have to wear a floor model, worn by several other people while they tried to find their special dress. The floor model was not the color she ordered. This was the option Hope offered if they couldn't fix their mistake. I scoffed, I couldn't even believe she suggested this. I asked her to order a new dress immediately and she said no and that it wasnt possible. I told her that they would be figuring out a way to compensate my friend the bride monetarily and that we would hope for the best that they could find length in her dress. Hope is the worst representation of this business. When we went back to see if the seamstress had fixed her mistake she didn't once apologize, or ask how the outcome of the dress went. When we walked out of the building she stood there like a coward and remained silent. Pathetic.
Meanwhile I emailed bridal exclusives two different times asking for the General Managers information. I called several times and NEVER once received a reply.
When my friend went back to finally pick up her dress there weren't any managers available. The owners daughter was present and WOW if we thought Hope was bad the owners daughter made her look like a saint.
After arguing back and forth, without anyone apologizing for the awful experience we had the owners daughter finally offered $250 off the $500 alteration costs. She denied EVER getting our emails..funny I have copies.. I imagine Hope the store manager deleted them because she knew how poorly she had represented this business.
BUYER BEWARE. Brides your day is too special to deal with people like this..I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.
My opinion on Janiah remains the same as before. She is the ONLY store representative that earns 5 stars.
This place has incredible wedding dresses!! Janiah helped my best friend find her dress with the BEST customer service. Janiah kept the first appointment moving so she could try on several dresses but did not make us feel rushed. We came back today for the fitting and we had the same experience. Janiah is funny, friendly and knows how to make you feel welcome. Highly recommend this place... just make sure you...
Read morePicked out/ordered my wedding dress and paid in full for it, a belt, bra, shoes and preservation which all cost around $2500. Was told alterations would be more as I wanted to alter the back of the dress, no problem. My dress came in a few months later with everything I ordered plus the belt the dress came with. Didn't know the dress came with a belt and would have liked to have known that before I ordered an additional belt which cost around $300. Ouch! The bra Shelly had me order was not the correct bra (per my alterations person as it was too big and stuck out) so I returned it and bought one somewhere else.
Brought my one bridesmaid in to pick out her dress with an appointment and was completely ignored. Shelly was double booked and didn't help us or the other party. We ended up helping each other.
When it came time for my alterations I thought it wouldn't be such a nightmare. The lady who initially looked at my dress the day I bought it to make sure what I wanted done could be done broke her collar bone. She gave me a quote of $400-600. I met my new alterations person and she quoted me $1,200.00 I signed for the work to be done as it needed to be done and she told me to come back two days before my wedding to try it on and take it. Keep in mind this was 3 months before my wedding. I told her I needed to make sure it fit and liked the alterations way before two days before my wedding. It was done with a week to spare. I understand they were short staffed due to the collar bone accident, but hire other alterations people! During my last visit I was in their waiting area for quite a while which is fine but was beyond shocked to see what was happening. Two sales associates were irritated that another sales associate was helping the customer who just walked in without an appointment instead of one of them. That's when I realized this place is commission based and no wonder why they sell extra belts and incorrect bras. They don't care! It really was like witnessing a car lot when a customer walks in and they all take turns selling, but this public display of ignorance made myself and the other customer waiting to pick up her dress very comfortable.
My dress was sent away for preservation. Upon arrival, they called me to let me know I had a ton of frilled lace on all of the lace applicays on my dress. I told them that I knew that and didn't know it could be corrected. They said Bridal exclusives should have fixed this in the alterations process by taking scissors and cutting them down.
I met the owner (male) when I picked out my dress with my family. He was extremely nice and had I known what this experience would have been like I would have discussed it with him or gone somewhere else altogether. He needs to know his staff is a joke. I was stuck with the same sales associate for my dress and my bridesmaid dress who made our day extremely uncomfortable. Buying a wedding dress is supposed to be a joyous occasion and if the sales person doesn't want to be at work that day, they should go home and not take it out on the customer. My friends and family were with me and I was so embarrassed. Work on your professionalism...
Read moreI encouraged my best friend to come here after a wonderful experience for my wedding. As the bride, she had a fantastic experience. As the bridesmaids, we had an awful experience.
When we originally ordered our dresses I was encouraged to order 1 dress size larger than the sample that I fit in with space. I followed their recommendation, and when it came time for alterations I was quoted over $230 to take it in to the correct size and alter the lacy back straps to fit correctly. I ended up going elsewhere and having my alterations completed for less than $100.
The other bridesmaids have a much worse story. Our dresses were not ordered when we originally asked (the dresses had to be ordered as a rush because we went in in February and the wedding was in June). We were then told that our dresses wouldn't come in until the week before the wedding because they were ordered late. Luckily, they arrived a couple of weeks early. When it came time for alterations, we were told by 2 seamstresses that they could fit 4 girls in all at the same time on 1 day about 3 weeks before the wedding (which was the earliest availability that they were able to offer us, meaning that there would be a rush fee applied to alterations costs). When we arrived for our appointment there was only 1 seamstress there for th . 3 girls that kept their appointments. It took her over 2 hours to fit all of the girls by herself (she told us that she had this huge order placed on her just the day before our appointment).
The second fitting came around, and again the said the could fit all 3 of the girls in at the same appointment time 1 week before the wedding. Another of the girls had an appointment scheduled for a couple of days before. The day of her appointment she received a call and was asked to reschedule to the same time as the other girls. The day of the group appointment all of the girls received calls 1 hour before the appointment and were told that their dresses were not done and appointments were rescheduled for later in the week (the same week as the wedding). One of the bridesmaids was coming from 4-5 hours away, so we insisted that she have her appointment that day and were told that they would make it happen. When we arrived we had to wait and hour and a half for her dress to be finished.
The other girl's dresses were finished throughout the week, but they did not look good. The dresses were unable to be steamed because it took so long for alterations to be finished, and the backs did not lay flat on any of the girls. The work was clearly rushed. We do not blame Natasha ( the seamstress) because this huge order was placed on her plate without her knowledge, but the experience definitely could have...
