I attended the Opera for the first time because my friend gave me a free ticket to join her. We watch the Zorro performance. First of all paying for parking you have to scan an app, ugh I didn't know this until afterwards there was nowhere to pay. You have to park and then take care of the payment before you leave your car! This is your only option! You are required to enter your license plate or take a picture of it. It is monitored by cameras if you do not pay for parking you will be fined $45. Parking is $12 so you might as well just pay it. !You should be aware of the bag policy! You're not allowed to bring your purse! Must be a clear small bag or a bag 5 x 8. I do not attend events downtown or sporting events so I did not know this. I was 30 minutes early waiting out front for a friend and then tried to go in and couldn't. I had to return to my car and put my purse in my trunk. I had my small purse that I usually carry my gun in. I took my gun out left it in the trunk brought the smaller bag and they didn't even check it. This is the bag I keep my gun in! For god sakes how stupid was that! Once I got back the performance was getting ready to start. We had amazing seats because she is a season ticket holder. The construction of the theater is really dumb there is only a 4-inch rise in the seats of course two men were sitting directly in front of us. We could not see around them, so we moved. During intermission we went outside only one way out. There was no seating outside people were perched on rocks and the fountain wall. We were going to sit on a small retainer wall and the security person told us we couldn't. They said that we were not allowed to leave the immediate area and if we did there would be non entry. At this point I was ready to leave. I told her we were sitting on the wall and we did. The performance was okay, you had to choose between watching the performance or reading subtitles. I left the venue early because of the nightmare about trying to pay for parking I didn't want to be stuck in the garage. They really should have more signage about the parking app payment being the only option. They should have signage about bags and purses before you leave the parking garage. You're not allowed to bring a water bottle, not even empty. People were turned away to put the water bottles in the car or told them to throw the water bottle in the trash. Of course they had water you could purchase for $6. I would not...

Went to the Shen Yun concert today at the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall Tucson. I purchase tickets! My mom came from OUT OF TOWN to go. So my daughter, her, and I went. The show was beautiful!
The staff, their policies, or both were extremely disappointing. First off they said we were only allowed one program per family! So they only gave me one, even though I told them we were two different households. Their response was “ohhh well only one per family!”
Then to treat my daughter I got her a bottle soda for $5. As we were walking down the hall I got stopped 5, yea 5 times that we couldn’t take our sodas in to the theatre! Ok cool, as my daughter and I were trying to drink as much as we could we saw multiple “lighter skinned” people walk in with FOOD, SODAS and BEER/DRINKS to their SEATS!!! We left ours in the hall with a paper to see if anyone messed with them since we couldn’t take them in. There was another Mexican guy that got harassed too and had to go get his family so they could eat and chug their drinks and eat their food asap. Let me tell you, it was embarrassing being the only people of color sitting out in the hall with our drinks.
When we went back to our seats the lady next to me was super cool and was with little kids. She too was of a “lighter” tone... They were eating m&ms and drinking soda. I asked how she got in with them. She said they just walked in. I showed her a picture of our drinks in the hall. She was shocked and made her kids cover their drinks. Once the lights were out they were drinking and eating though lol I don’t blame them I had planned on enjoying myself like that too.
The ushers inside the Theatre/seating area were helpful and polite. The ones in the hall could take a class in hospitality, communication, and to stop profiling.
$450 + for this bs. maybe we'll try again...
Read moreDisappointed about the Christmas ballet. Cannot believe I paid like $80 per ticket just to arrive at the venue and be held at the entrance to pay $15 for parking. Pretty unbelievable to charge people for parking, there's literally nothing you can do if you need to get to the event. In the whole city parking is mostly free in the evenings/weekends! This caused a car jam everywhere because of everyone having to pay one by one. Half of the people were late to the event for this reason - so disrespectful to the performers and the people who bought tickets to have their money go to waste. Absolutely will not return next year. Money extortion and delay at our cost. The bag policy was stated on the ticket but I forgot, so had to run back to the car to leave the bag. Been to other events where they just check the bag and let you in. I understand their choice about this, but on top of the disastrous parking situation it was just an extra annoyance to deal with. Shame, because the inside venue is actually very cozy and nice, but you wouldn't know if you didn't plan for a 20 minute traffic jam. I made it on time but feel heartbroken for...
