Travel often, one of the worst stays ever. When we arrived after 6pm several trucks were hauling beds and interior fixtures in and out of the building. All of doors were open and the hallway to our first floor room was about 40 degrees and our room was 55. The wall thermostat was not working so we used the one on the hvac unit and it was working very poorly, making the room hot and cold all night, it turns on and off about 4 times every 10 minutes. The beds are unbearably stiff like putting a yoga mat on the floor, the pillows are either flat or way overstuffed leaving the head to be in a kinked position one way or another if you lay on your side. We came into town on a different time schedule and my wife needed rest before a business meeting, there is a full construction crew right out the door in the hallway cutting metal parts with a sawzall while my wife is trying to sleep. I have left a message at the front desk but have not had a response and they continue the work. All of the commotion has put so much dust in the air that I was up all night clogged up and sneezing. Also, the water is off at the building during the day. My wife constantly had the WiFi kick her off on a regular basis last night and this morning disrupting her work so often that she stopped working to just try and get rest and unfortunately cell signal for tether is very poor in the building. On a side note the room was somewhat dirty with hairs in the bathroom and fingerprints all over the mirrors to the closet, window and tv. Upon booking the hotel on business as usual when looking for a hotel in this town (corporate healthcare employees come through town 3-4 times monthly) we were not warned of any of these things and charged full price for this disaster of a stay. We did get warning of the water being shut off from 11-3 during the day on a piece of paper at the front desk. These repairs are the type that need and have scheduling far ahead, yet no warning or notices given to customers on a multiple day stay, no attempt to not rent the rooms directly next to the construction. POOR POOR MANAGEMENT. All of the problems could be yours if you stay here without warning. We will not stay here again, and most likely none of the healthcare conference members will stay here either. Do yourself a favor and choose a different...
Read moreManagement has notified me after a google review that they are unwilling to keep other guests safe by politely enforcing the IHG mask policy.
Here is my initial review:
First, I would like to talk about what was good with this hotel. The person who checked me in at the front desk was very kind and courteous. She was very easy to talk with and made me feel welcome at the hotel.
The pool was very large… larger than most hotels. This was a lot of fun for my kids and me. The hot tub was also nice and warm.
Breakfast was great, the food was great.
The hotel was perhaps slightly starting to show its age, but the value was tremendous - very reasonable nightly rate. I’d choose a slightly aging hotel that is still clean and nice with a much lower price tag over the newest remodeled Holiday Inn Express with a higher price tag.
If I could stop the review here, this would be a 5 star review. I was very happy with all these things.
However, the hotel failed completely in a hotel’s most basic responsibility for guests: safety. Signs on the doors of the hotels say that IHG policy requires masks to help stop the spread of Covid; however, this location does not enforce that policy.
At check-in, there was a man in the lobby not wearing his mask. Nothing was said to him to politely put on a mask.
The following day at breakfast, about 50% of adults in the breakfast line were not wearing masks (I’m not talking about sitting down and eating… I mean as they were up in the breakfast lines, near other people… near the food that I was about to eat).
Over the course of the two separate days I was there, there were several different employees who saw 10-20 hotel guests in indoor public areas without a mask… and not a word was said to these guests to help keep us safe. The fact that there were several different employees on different days failing to enforce IHG’s mask policy tells me that there is a lack of leadership from hotel management.
Put simply, this hotel is not safe in our current Covid environment. In a different time, this would be a 5 star review. I hope this hotel improves before someone unnecessarily gets sick (or worse) because this hotel failed to keep its...
Read moreScheduled room at this location for multi day stay in Twin Falls. 1st Night noticed A/c was coming on and off by itself for a few seconds then off then on again during night a few times. Saw thermo stat was saying battery was low. Informed hotel front counter that we had a issue. When we got back late that evening after 7pm from exploring found NOTHING had been done. Reported to front desk again, they sent desk clerk up to see. They changed battery in thermostat and since room was warm it ran for a couple hours before cutting off. Right after it cut off the fan starting going on for a few seconds then off again over and over constantly!!! Called frt desk and found out they dont have maint persons for a couple months now. I guess having a contract with a local HVAC company was too much effort also. It was now 11:30pm at night. They were booked full but they had a room with a single bed that didnt meet our needs AND the door lock was broken. You could get out but not in. This wouldnt work for us. And since there is NO way to disconnect the AC unit at all. The unit would just run so we decided to end our stay the next day since there wasn't any rooms available in town late notice. Since we wouldn't be getting much of any sleep I asked for a comp for that night. Was told that night staff could only give a discount off room not a comp w/o manger approval who would be in the next morning. At checkout manger wasn't there so I asked for them to call me, 4 days later, no call. So I called them and asked again for manager, they said wasn't available and to leave voicemail, I did leave a message now a week later still no call. During breakfast we heard 2 other couples talking about a/c doing the same thing so this wasnt just our room. This was worse experience we have had at this chin. I will not stay there again, especially in light of management not returning contact...
