August of 2020 I went back home to visit family. Growing up in Idaho every time we came to Twin Falls I loved going across the Perrine Memorial Bridge. When I came to visit for a couple weeks I decided to have a "me" day. My mom let me take her car and I drove to Twin Falls to try Chick-fil-a and then stopped at the bridge and took pictures. While enjoying the scenery and also checking out the wall of locks I saw a guy getting ready to parachute off the bridge. I've always seen videos but never experienced it first hand. I uploaded the video separately but with this review I uploaded some of the pictures I took. Watching the guy parachute was nerve raking but so cool seeing him land safely and then you can hear him cheer. There were people in kayaks cheering him on too. Such a cool moment to experience. This Bridge is defintely special to me and being able to come back after all these years was awesome!! Next time I will need to actually go down into the canyon and hike the rim, but this visit was more nostalgic if anything and just re-experiencing places I frequented with my family growing up. When you pass through stop and enjoy the view, put a lock on the wall, or just take...
Read moreI always stop at this place when Im driving through Idaho on I-84. Beautuful view of the Snake River Canyon (the famous motorcycle trick rider Evel Knievel "tried" to jump this canyon in the 1970's). You can see an amazingly fun golf course down below and chances are, depending on the time of year, you will see base jumpers jumping off the bridge and paragliding down into the canyon (although i hear they are trying to or have nade that illegal recently - whuch doesn't necessarily mean you wont see it). This place is just outsude of the town Twin Falls which is named for the twin waterfalls situated just outside of town on the Snake River. Beautiful waterfalls with a nice viewing area. If you are going to stop in Twin Falls you should check both of these places out. Its gotten more commercialized in the last 10 years, but its still very cool and worth stopping if you are coming to the area or travelling down I-84 between the Salt Lake, Utah and Boise/Meridian Idaho or...
Read moreThis is one cool bridge with a little bit of famous history behind it. The bridge spans the Snake River Canyon in Twinn Falls, Idaho. The bridge is a draw for Base Jumpers that come here for the rush of jumping over 450' into the canyon and river below. It's a cool activity to watch as it is one of the only man-made structures that is legal to jump from in the US. It is not a sport that I would recommend for the inexperienced as there have been 10 fatalities since people first started jumping off the bridge, even back before it was legal. Evil Knievel tried jumping the deep canyon back in 1974 but failed to make the jump because of a parachute malfunction. The ramp that was built sits on private property about 1.5 miles from the Perrine Bridge. There's walking paths and trails that go down under the bridge and along the canyon walls on both sides of the river. As always, leave no trace, leave it better than you found it,...
