Funky Fish Outdoors — Attraction in Tybee Island

I never thought I’d write a review about a sovereign shop, but my husband & I received the best customer service we’ve had in a long time, that I just had to share our experience. We stopped here on our first night in town. The lady who runs this place is extremely warm & welcoming. My husband found a shirt he liked but instead of getting it while we were there on the first day, we delayed our trip home on the last day & waited for the shop to open so he could pick it up (husbands! Lol). Anyway, we brought the shirt to the register & the nice lady told us it was a lady’s shirt so we went back to look for the men’s in that design; no luck. Then the lady say “You know what, I’ll make it for you!”. Whhhhhhat? Who does that anymore? It was just a $15 shirt & nothing special about it in my opinion, but it made my husband happy. This lady warmed up her shirt press for a half hour just to make my husband the shirt he wanted. No one ever goes out of their way like that anymore. It was a cute shop but the red head girl was RUDE. The other girl was nice but she followed me around like I was going to steal something. They had boys sitting behind the register. I’m not sure if they were workers or just hanging out. The red head girl even proceeded to follow me and my family as we left. Then she watched us until we got to our hotel. Pretty creepy. 😂

When I checked out they asked for my ID. Which I understand that some shops do that if it’s over a certain amount. My mom checked out right after me and they did not check her ID. Worst customer service experience ever here.

The funky Fish was literally right across the street from our vacation resort. They have everything you'll need for the beach and any souvenirs that you'd love to take home with you. I've seen some of the reviews that were more towards the negative, we did not have that kind of experience. I also noticed that their return policy is posted at both registers where you'd check out. As a consumer I'd say use common sense, if it's clothes , try them on there is a fitting room there. You're on vacation and here to have a good time, if something is pricey, pass on it.
