I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant, and I feel compelled to share it in detail so that others are aware before making the decision to dine here.

First of all, the cashier was incredibly rude and disrespectful from the moment we walked in. We arrived at around 9:40 PM, well before the official closing time, yet the cashier kept rushing us, repeatedly saying, “Hurry up and order, we are closing soon,” in an impatient and dismissive tone. Instead of welcoming customers, we felt like we were being kicked out before we even placed our order.

Secondly, when we finally tried to place our order, we were told that the kitchen had not properly prepared the food we wanted. No apology was offered; instead, the cashier behaved as though it was our fault for wanting something off the menu.

Thirdly, the payment process was another nightmare. We had ordered three to four meals and I wanted to pay partially in cash and partially by card — something completely normal in any decent restaurant. I offered $100 cash and asked to pay the remaining $5 by card, but the cashier rudely refused, demanding that the entire amount be paid either fully in cash or fully by card. No flexibility, no courtesy, and absolutely no respect for the customer.

To make matters worse, after driving nearly an hour just to try their food, I was treated with complete disregard and a shocking level of unprofessionalism. I came with high hopes, eager to enjoy a nice meal, but instead I was met with hostility, impatience, and a total lack of basic customer service etiquette.

The cashier’s behavior was beyond unacceptable — extremely rude, aggressive, and dismissive — making the entire experience stressful and unpleasant.

I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone who values respectful service and a decent dining experience. There are plenty of other places where customers are treated with the dignity they deserve. Save your time, your money, and your energy, and avoid this place at all...

Okay not sure where to start, I found this place by chance on our last day in DC. We were heading to Taj India restaurant after finding it in google and just happened to see Kabul castle kabob's Add on the road and a big dish of rice and kabobs(we were going to Indian restaurant halfheartedly anyways because of our experience in Flavors of India restaurant, their food is horrible, tiny portions, seriously stay away). We just jumped in Kabul Castle Kabob after seeing their outdoor, outdoor was nice and clean so was indoor, looks like recently renovated place or they just keep it up to date. The service is like fast food restaurant, but it was much cleaner. The staff was extremely friendly and forthcoming in answering questions. We ordered KABOB KOBEDAH and Beef Kabob platters. I was pleasantly surprised by the portion size; food was served in a huge platter with extremely generous amount of rice, salad, a side of your choice (either chickpeas, mixed vegies or eggplant etc.) huge kabobs, raita, a green chatni and top of that a naan with both platters. All in all, it was an excellent experience, good food with generous portions, extremely clean space and...

First time trying this place out, was driving past the neighborhood and saw it had high ratings, was excited to give it a try. I ordered the lamb chop platter, beef dumplings, and baklava. The lamb chop platter was decent given the price $24.99 you get quite a bit of food, with 4 lamb chops, rice, salad, side , and a whole piece of bread. The lamb was well seasoned and grilled nicely. I thought the eggplant was a bit oily will try the chickpeas next time. The beef dumplings was a good price 10 for 11.99! I think it’s pricier at other places. I was really disappointed at the baklava, I should have asked if it was homemade. It was not homemade and it did not taste fresh- tasted stale, coated with a lot of corn syrup and the expiration date is for next year! It was 4.99 for small pieces. I wanted to give 5 stars but was let down by the baklava. I do recommend giving them a try as the food is really good, but if you are looking for fresh homemade baklava recommend...

I drove an hour to checkout this new place in DC. I wished I had excellent things to say because the staff was nice, but the gyro was extremely salty and the rice had no taste. I have been to 30+ Arabic/middle eastern restaurant and this one didn't pass the food test for me. The lamb chop was well cooked and was delicious. So were the dumplings (manto). Everything else was below standard compared to other kebob chains. Advice to management: You are facing competition from many well based Kebob restaurants around. Get the food right, it is NOT OK to pay $60+ on very salty food. Do not serve if it doesn't pass the quality/standard to bring customers back. Focusing on getting it right should be your goal. I will be back to try again. Hopefully the food Would be much better. Salam
