Jordan landing used to be the place to go... Now it's run down and half the businesses are either closed or in the process of closing. It's kind of turned into the valley fair mall of West Jordan.
The owners have tried to keep it up, but retail brick and mortar is dying. There are some very good things to Jordan Landing, however, like Bombay House, incredible Indian food. The Walmart is about as ghetto as they get now.
The movie theater is outdated... Go down to the district and get a better experience.
Honestly, Jordan Landing feels like the southward expansion of West Valley - sad!
It's sad to see the downturn of the area in general, it used to be a nice area of town, but it's not that way now. You can make your own conclusions as to why.
Jordan Landing is still a good place to go for a few things, restaurants primarily, but even with that, there used to be more quality restaurants.
The worst part to Jordan Landing is trying to drive through it. This is nothing new, ever since the start, the ridiculous number of stop signs trying to drive through has made me avoid Jordan Landing for that alone. If you've been there, you know what I'm talking about.
Still, Jordan Landing serves it's purpose for a few things. Try to frequent the local businesses to support them and avoid the Walmart...
Read moreOn Saturday at around noon tried to dine at Lucky’s Iron Door at Jordan Landing, and had a very disappointing experience. My father, a Navy veteran in his 70s who can barely walk, and my brother, who is recovering from a broken leg and uses a cane, were with us. Even though the restaurant was nearly empty — with only one other table occupied — the staff refused to seat us until every member of our party arrived. We explained their mobility limitations, but no accommodation was offered. For people with disabilities or limited mobility, being forced to stand and wait is painful and unsafe. While I understand restaurants often have a “full party required” policy, applying it in a nearly empty restaurant without making an exception shows a lack of compassion and, in my view, is out of step with ADA requirements. I hope management takes this seriously and updates policies and training so all guests, including those with disabilities, are treated with dignity and respect.
Also asked for manager and was told “we self manage” and handed a business card for a...
Read moreCannot be outside by the theater and fountain area after 11 pm or security will kick you out for waiting for your ride under the lights. The security agent was so rude. We will not come to this area to hang out again- movies or late night dinner with the experience we had with security. It was 1105 and he wouldn't let us wait by the chairs under the light for our ride 5 to 10 minutes away - told us to wait by the road. He also had to say to my friend, "I'm not customer service, I am security" lol. We really couldnt understand why he was being so pushy to us. Why not come around and check on us in the 5/10 minutes, we would have been gone anyway? People were still coming out of the movies. Others were enjoying the evening talking and walking in the area. We were just sitting in an area where all cameras were around us. I will avoid the hangout area and surrounding restaurants next time we go out for the evening. I can understand 1230 or 1, security getting worried about securing the...
