I had preordered tickets 10 DAYS IN ADVANCE AT THE MOVIE THEATRE for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, so my wife and I could see it on Valentine's Day. When we got into the theatre, we saw a couple in our seats. We told the couple, "You are in our seats" and they told us, "No, we have tickets," and they showed the tickets. I said, "I preordered mine 10 days ago," and they replied, "We bought ours 2 hours ago online." Apparently, this couple wasn't getting the idea, "first come, first serve," so my wife and I got the manager. The manager reviewed our tickets, and then reviewed the other couple's tickets, and then the manager told US (NOT THE OTHER COUPLE!) that she was sorry for overbooking, and she would get US (NOT THE OTHER COUPLE!) free ticket vouchers for another movie at another time. I kept repeating to the manager, "It seems unfair that I preordered tickets 10 DAYS IN ADVANCE AT THE THEATRE, and we lost my seat to a couple who ordered the tickets 2 HOURS AGO ONLINE." The manager NEVER told the other couple, "They bought the tickets first. You have to get out of the seats. We will get you free movie vouchers." The manager kept telling US, "Their tickets are legitimate," not even acknowledging we preordered 10 DAYS IN ADVANCE AT THE THEATRE, as opposed to the other couple who ordered their tickets ONLINE 2 HOURS AGO, and she kept offering US (NOT THE OTHER COUPLE!) free movie vouchers. The manager also eventually threw in paying for our concessions, and by that time, the movie was already a quarter hour in, so we gave up. Worst part: we found another couple in the theatre that this happened to, and they ordered the tickets 2 weeks in advance! Moral of story: don't preorder tickets here because they won't respect it. I'm probably going to call corporate this week and demand a refund because I really don't want to go back, even...
Read moreI used to think the discount Tuesdays were a great way to keep my Regal Crown Club Diamond Status. I was wrong. I paid for three different movies (Cure for Wellness / The Great Wall / Fifty Shades Darker) on Feb. 21st and only received credit on my account for one ticket. This mistake is compounded when you add the Universal See 4 Get 4 promotion going on that provides additional incentives such as 1,000 points extra for each movie viewed. Two of these (The Great Wall and Fifty Shades Darker) were available for viewing on the same day and I held tickets for both. Overall I received one Diamond credit instead of three and only got points for one movie without any of the bonuses. I was told that I should have mentioned this when I was paying and only bought one ticket at a time. The reason I didn't buy one at a time is the whole reserved seating issue. To top things off I had to leave "The Great Wall" viewing because of excessive talking within the audience and cell phones being used by people sitting on either side of me. I used to think discount Tuesdays at Manchester were a great thing, especially in regard to earning my Diamond status points and credits. Now they've found a way to even take that away. Considering this is my second time around at Diamond status you would think they would appreciate my business and my former "glowing" reviews but apparently I am mistaken. I even drive 60 miles round trip to watch my movies here at Manchester instead of the one (Manor 16) 12 miles round trip from my house. Obviously I need to take my...
Read moreIn the past, I have regularly shown up not long after they opened on a Tuesday to take advantage of the discounted popcorn. It's an odd preference, but I digress. Today, I showed up, after a few months of not going, to find out that they were NOT open at 11 like every possible source says they should be. I was on the way to a tattoo appointment and really needed a snack to keep up my spirits while being stabbed repeatedly for several hours. I called corporate's number (automated) to be redirected to the location at West Manchester where the phone then rang until it started beeping at me obnoxiously. Nobody picked up and I gave up. While I was preparing to leave the parking lot, Rabbit Transit dropped someone off at the doors. That poor lady tried the door to find it locked and then wandered off toward the stores since her ride had left and she was already there. As she walked out of sight, someone came from INSIDE the theater to the space between the doors and looks around but doesn't unlock any of them. This was about 12 noon at this point, mind you. I watched at least one employee get out of their car as I was leaving but by then, I was risking being late to my appointment, so I didn't stick around. Take from this what you will, but when I can find no reason for a place to be closed and no sign on the door explaining the strange change in hours, I expect them to be open to the public and ready...
