The tourist information office is next to the gift shop inside the same building, which actually gave directions, for that reason alone I'll give the place an extra star.
But if you want souvenirs, just use the gift shops inside the basilica instead or go to the post office at the square. The big bald guy we went to for some stamps was very rude.
We picked some stamps for a gift, prices for which were on a board next to the guy, so I took a picture of the board to indicate which ones I wanted. The guy didn't bother to look and pointed me to a catalogue with photos they probably took in 2005 because it was really blurry and the photos of the stamps were barely visible. I managed to find the same stamps I was trying to show him. He then proceeded to tell me agressively to delete the picture of the board I took. I didn't do anything to be berated by this dude but he did so anyway.

I've ended up leaving it quite frustrated, first, despite asking for the cheapest available option the post cashier tried to scam me by selling me two stamps for €5 each, then trying the same again but with €15 pope-stamp collection. I've finally ended up paying €1.5 per stamp.
The cashier kept the €2 change and thanked me for the "voluntary offer".
