I’m writing this review while waiting for my food. It’s been exactly 27 mins since we were here and we haven’t got our entree yet. When we first arrived at 17:35 ish we were told there’s something wrong with our booking so we can’t get the table as we requested. We were offered to either sit at the outdoor area or wait for someone to finish their meal so we can sit inside. After a bit of mess around after we finally got to sit inside. Ordered food at 17:49:43 and it is 18:19 our entree that was supposed take about 5-10mins to make were finally here. Not happy with table services at all. Have been told “the shop is really busy now”.
The food on the other hand is above average with no doubt. But seriously being busy does not mean that you can offer the dishes differently to the menu. I mean specifically with 敲糖口水鸡。如果不能敲糖,请把菜单改成”不能敲糖口水鸡”。 Sorry for my non mandarin speaking fellas for this one here lol. It’s basically me winging the food presents way too different than what it was on the menu.
Well if you’re gonna charge anything close to fine dinning prices to cop with ur expensive ongoing cost, the least you can do is to get ur table services up to standard guys.
Final edits: No matter how many bots or friends and family you hire to write fake 5 stars reviews the stats probs ain’t going back up if you don’t listen to the people who got disappointed. For whoever wants to try this place, I still personally recommend this shop. The food is alright and tbh we need some fine ass Chinese restaurant to get our names out there in Brisbane cuz there’s only a few considered remarkable. I truly wish that you guys can go back to the basics and stand out in this small town. (They didn’t pay me for nothing don’t you worry guys no one’s pointing a gun on my head forcing me to write this...
Read moreWell presented restaurant serving authentic Chinese cuisine located next to the Westin Hotel in Brisbane CBD. They do offer a wide selection of dishes ranging from the super spicy black mullet braised in chilli oil and peppercorn to non-spicy tea-smoked duck. There’s something for every taste bud. The dishes are not small in portion and are mostly designed to be shared so its ideal to dine in a group of 3-4 if you’d like to try a few dishes. Or just be prepared to take some leftovers home (like we always do) as their food still taste delicious after reheating.
The two of us ordered these 3 dishes with rice and took home the leftovers which were enough for a second meal.
Dry Fried Pork intestine with dry chilli and chips - Loved the chilli infused flavour and crunchiness of all the ingredients: pork intestine, capsicum, potato, peanuts, onion. The flavour is spicy but not over the top numbing kind of spicy. The strong flavour makes it a great dish to pair with rice.
“Xu Xiang” Eggplant with pork mince and sweet sour sauce - Eggplants are cooked through and nice and soft. Sauce was delicious. If you are someone who likes eggplant in sauce, this is another flavoursome dish to pair with rice.
Spicy lamb ribs with capsicum, onions, peanuts, coriander, cumin and paprika - Amazing aroma and flavour. The lamb ribs were simply a delight and cooked to perfection. This dish is perfect to enjoy on its own or pair with rice.
They also served a small plate of picked cabbage as complimentary appetiser, which was really nice. Overall the dining experience was enjoyable. Staff were attentive although we sat at the outdoor dining area. Prices are on the expensive side. Highly recommend using Liven to buy Foodollars to get discount if you can.

Read moreBeen here 3 times. Mostly enjoyable Sichuan food - high in both flavour and price.
The restaurant is centrally located at the base of The Westin Brisbane on Mary St in the CBD, and offers a range of indoor and outdoor seating, plus some private function rooms if that’s more your style. The menu is extensive, with a focus on Sichuan items. But if you’re like my family who can’t handle much heat, there are non-spicy options too.
