As I went in I was taken aback from the entrance with 100s of alcohol bottles displayed. I was fasting and as a Muslim I was looking for a halal restaurant to break my fast in. We called and reserved over the phone and in the photos online, I did not see a bar at the entrance. It was a night club atmosphere with dim lights, loud music and unfriendly welcome. Then we were shown to a miniscule table close to the toilet and in a passage between the staircase and a wall. When I enquired if the food was halal a middle aged waiter started talking in Moroccan dialect, I told him that I didn't speak Arabic. He then informed me that 'everything was halal in this restaurant' . I said there were all these alcohol... I didn't even finish my sentence that he brought his face close to mine and like a fishwife started telling me in a loud voice 'are you here to drink the alcohol or eat halal meat' ! I wanted to leave from the moment I stepped and if I was not fasting I would have told him off. Also my young son who was fasting wanted absolutely to eat and told me not to mind the waiter. I have never so insulted by a waiter like this! The food was all right however the toilets are unisex, where everyone goes in. I went to wash my hands and had a gentleman coming out! Once inside one is overwhelmed by the stink that puts one off to eat! I am ashamed that my child and I had to go through what we did because we were stick in the city cebter. Alhamdoulilah I'm not new at discovering restaurants and after having eaten at many Belgian restaurants as well in many different EU, Asian, African, middle Eastern countries for over 38 years this was a total catastrophe! My son and I both learnt a valuable lesson that it's better to leave with dignity than be treated in such horrible fashion. The irony was that we are the clients and we were supposed to be treated with respect and kindness, both manerism lacking from the staff. It might be that they say a brown Muslim woman alone without a man because I didn't see they acting like this with other white folks. And I was the only visible Muslim woman there. However, very disrespectful and unacceptable behaviour, I do not recommend to any decent...

Despite previous positive experiences our last visit ended on a very bad note. Booked a table for 10 persons well in advance. Upon arrival there's was some discussion between waiters about or reservation and they seated us in a corner in the cellar, on a spot that clearly wasn't fit for 10 persons; at 5 round two persons tables. Ok, no problem but you feel a bit excluded from the restaurant vibe down there, plus it's quite hot down there and smells a bit of old cellar. From then on things only got worse...It already took them some time to take our orders but being served what we ordered to eat took them about 2 hours and 45 minutes (!!) We heard all kind of excuses for the delay; from the fact that it was because we ordered some starters (cold mezze prepared in advance...) or to the fact that a Tajine needs that much time to be ready....While waiting for our food we saw people that arrived after us being served there Tajine... The food was ok. Some Tajines were a bit bland, under seasoned, and the vegetables were even undercooked. My Couscous with grilled meat was tasty though the vegetables in broth were quite overcooked in this case. Owner tried to shush us with 2 complementary bottles of wine but waiting almost 3 hours for your food isn't normal... Seems either they can't handle large tables or they had completely...

VERY expensive for what you get. I have been to Morocco so felt like we were ripped off. If you have travelled all over Morocco you would never give this place high ratings. Tagine was somewhat tasty but very simple and only served with a very small basket of bread for two people. In most restaurants this quantity of bread is given for free. Especially as the bread was not very special in taste. For that price they should offer couscous or something else as a free side dish. You have to ask for couscous at an extra price on top of the already high price. In Morocco food portions are usually quite generous! Waiter also asked me for a tip at the end which is very rude in Belgium!! Maybe because I speak English he thought I was American!?? When you go to a restaurant you should leave with a good feeling. I would not recommend it to a friend.

Summary: delicious Moroccan food and beautifully decorated restaurant! A bit expensive tho😅 Came here for a lunch date on a weekday. We reserved the night before. The staff seated us quickly upon arrival and gave us the menu. We received our food within 20-25mins. I ordered the Tfaya (26,5€) It's chicken with almonds, golden raisins and caramelized onions; it is a sweet dish and served with couscous. I was surprised at how delicious it was! Although, I did think that it is too pricey here. I've been to other Oriental places that march lore the average price in Brussels (around 16-20€ per person for a main plate). And I tried the Tajine ordered by my partner and that was delicious too! I would come back to try other dishes, especially the Tajines but I need to take my time since the price is quite high😅
