My family and I recently spent five days at Homewood Suites by Hilton Mont-Tremblant, a place that has been a favorite of ours for the past ten years. While we cherish the beautiful views of the mountain and the wonderful memories we've made here, I regret to say that our latest visit has left us feeling disappointed.
Firstly, the rooms have clearly seen better days. We noticed significant wear and tear, which is somewhat expected over time, but the lack of essential kitchen items was shocking. For a family of four, we were provided with only two towels and two hand towels—so we had to ask for extra sets, a far cry from the previous visits where we received an appropriate amount for everyone in the family.
The bathrooms are another area of concern. While I appreciate that the toilet is separate from the shower and sink, the design is not very kid-friendly. My 3-year-old daughter ended up with a bruised forehead after a mishap getting up from the toilet due to the close proximity of the sink. This was distressing for us as parents.
The amenities offered in the kitchen have become quite minimal. Rather than the well-equipped kitchen we remembered, we were given just a piece of paper with dishwashing powder and no soap holder, dish rack, or sponge. This lack of attention to detail made our stay less convenient.
Cleanliness was also an issue during our stay. Unfortunately, the beds were made poorly, and there was a distinctly unpleasant odor around the toilet area that was hard to overlook. The breakfast experience was also subpar—mostly coffee and a lot of oatmeal muffins, with scrambled eggs that lacked flavor and unappetizing sausage options, oranges, bananas and yogurt . It's a shame, as the breakfast used to cater well to families with kids.
An unsettling incident occurred on February 9th when I witnessed a staff member exiting a public washroom with gloves on, which raised concerns about hygiene as they proceeded to handle food. This made my family and me wary, and I ended up preparing our own breakfast rather than risk our health.
Despite these issues, I still believe in the potential of this hotel. The location is perfect for families, offering breathtaking mountain views and easy access to ski slopes, where we can watch our children learn snowboarding. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, which is always appreciated.
However, if the hotel hopes to maintain its reputation, it desperately needs some TLC. A thorough refresh of the rooms and amenities, coupled with a focus on improving cleanliness and the breakfast offerings, could make all the difference. We’ll return in the future, but next time, we’ll come better prepared with our own breakfast provisions to ensure a more enjoyable experience.
In short, we hope this beloved hotel can reclaim the high standards we once associated with Hilton Mont-Tremblant. With some changes, it could once again be a top-notch destination for...
Read moreFor a great autumn getaway there's nothing quite like heading for the proverbial hills, or in this case Mont Tremblant. We've enjoyed many winter stays but this was the first Fall getaway-from-the-fam stay. Got a great stay on a multi-night visit from Sunday through Thursday. Check in was easy and the staff very engaging and helpful, particularly the supervisor who offered some advice on dining options on a Sunday night during the 'off season'. After Thanksgiving the pedestrian village goes into slow mode to recover from the summer season and prepare for winter. This meant that many of the pedestrian village restaurants were not open and also a few of the stores were on limited days/hours. We checked into a nicely appointed and cozy one bedroom Queen suite complete with a pleasant decorating scheme and fully operable wood fireplace. It was the perfect getaway spot for one or two people with all the conveniences of home and away from the kids! Homewood Suites 'back' entrance faces out onto the pedestrian upper level plaza which is the main space for outdoor events, larger restaurants, activities, and access to the main lifts on the south side of the mountain. There was a bag breakfast offered as the buffet is still not open due to COVID restrictions, however they offered three options such as croissant plus hard boiled egg, yogurt, fruit and juice + coffee; a breakfast sandwich on an English muffin with sausage, yoghurt, fruit & coffee; and lastly a similar offer but with a cereal and milk as the main carb/protein. Worked out great for us as we were able to eat in our suite and have extra coffee from the coffeemaker in the suite's kitchenette. There are snack/drink dispensing machines on the floors with an ice dispenser on the second floor. The Suites has indoor parking available which is included in the room fee. Additional spaces can be rented for $25/night. There is an SAQ at the walkway behind the hotel, making it easy to grab a last minute bottle of wine or spirit. Views from the pedestrian plaza overlooking the valley below the hotel and across the hills is lovely. We enjoyed walking the village, and there is an abundance of nature close by the hotel for a walk down to the look out at the east end of Lac Mercier. It was a great stay and a nice hotel and we'd love to go...
Read moreI travelled with my sister and her family, as well as with friends. The room itself and the hotel amenities (pool, sauna, breakfast) were very nice. However, we experienced major security and privacy violations. We read upon arrival that the hotel only cleans the rooms after 4 days, and they only change towels upon request. However, we had staff entering our room on the morning of our second day while we were at breakfast to clean the room (according to the manager), even though our room was not actually cleaned. We had staff knocking on the door asking if we wanted towels when we hadn’t requested them, and most concerning of all, our friends had a male staff member enter their room at 11:30 at night without permission offering towels without holding any towels. When questioning management on why people were allowed to enter our rooms to offer towels or clean it (without actually doing those things), or disturbing us to ask if we wanted towels when weren’t expecting or had requested any room service, we were told that it is part of the normal operation of the hotel and that they do, in fact, offer daily room service starting at 8:30 am. If you stay in this hotel, I recommend using the deadbolt to lock the door when you are in as it seems it’s acceptable for staff to enter late at night without permission, and to have a clear understanding on what the room service policy is so you know when you can expect people to...
