I visited Poco Loco for the first time today and was immediately impressed by its modern ambiance and exceptional service. Right from the start, the staff were accommodating, assisting me with my dietary preferences. Although I initially considered takeout, the inviting atmosphere and stellar service persuaded me to dine at the bar, especially since my family was still skiing.
The chips and salsa were a highlight, offering authentic flavors reminiscent of those found in Mexico. The salsa was notably spicy, just how I like it. Additionally, they serve hibiscus water with a twist of lemonade, which was refreshingly delightful. For my meal, I chose a quesadilla, which might seem simple but is challenging to perfect. Poco Loco nailed it with the ideal balance of tortilla, temperature, protein, cheese, and the perfect salsa, resulting in a delicious dish.
The staff were consistently friendly, generous, and engaging, making for a pleasant dining experience. Poco Loco has quickly become my new favorite spot in Tremblant. This establishment is a refreshing take on New Mexican cuisine, distinct from its predecessors, and deserves to be a top choice for both lunch and dinner. I look forward to making it a yearly tradition whenever I visit Tremblant. A huge thank you to the team for an unforgettable experience, fantastic food, and warm...
Read morePoco Loco? More like Poco Lame-o. We were pumped to get our Mexican fix during our ski trip to Tremblant, but it ended up being a major "meh" moment. Lily, our waitress, was an absolute sweetheart – she was the real MVP here. But the food? Not so much.
We kicked things off with chips, salsa, and guac, and honestly, it felt like we were snacking on grocery store Tostitos. Like, no one told us we signed up for a Mexican food “imitation kit.” Major letdown. I ordered the birria tacos, which were... fine. Just fine. I've had better tacos from a food cart, honestly. My husband went for the chicharrón dish, and it was solid, but let’s be real, it’s hard to mess up fried pork.
Now, here’s the kicker: my four-year-old ordered chicken with rice and beans, and it was so spicy that he nearly set his mouth on fire. The rice wasn’t even Mexican rice. And the beans? Not even refried or charro. When we asked for the rice to be made less spicy and without veggies, the reply was, “It’s already mixed in.” So, I guess that’s a no-go.
For the price, I’d rather grab a taco from a food cart in a parking lot. Maybe next time, I'll just stick to après-ski poutine and forget this Mexican food experiment in the middle of...
Read morenew restaurant in Tremblant just opened! POCO LOCO! They just opened Saturday, and they have yet to secure their liquor licence but they will soon be a destination spot. They have a unique and well priced lunch menu specializing in Mexican cuisine, and their evening menu vers more Latin American cuisine. It was to die for. So fresh and vibrant, Poco Loco brings new flavours to Tremblant. I am lucky because it is just steps from the ski-in/ski-out locker room of @lewestintremblant
We had a great tasting menu trying the executive chef’s favourite dishes. The scallops were perfect, as was their octopus! But their chicharrón is going to be my new favourite dish on the mountain. The ceviche sauce was insanely good. The desserts were perfect way to end the meal. One of the drinks (pink cloud one) is not on the menu but the manager Emylia whipped it up for me, as soon as we saw it, we knew it was my kind of drink. Great service! Amazing atmosphere. That I’m shocked that we went on only their 3rd day.
(Please note we had a tasting menu, so portion sizes would be larger then...
