My wife and I went here on Sunday
The Good The hostess at the front was very personable and friendly.
The Bad My wife and I ordered 2 brisket, and 1 gravy. The waitress came with 1 order of brisket and gravy and then left. I originally thought that she could not carry two orders and that mine would come shortly. After about 10 minutes of watching my wife eating her lunch, I determined that my order was not coming. We spoke to the supervisor, who went to find out about the order, and she came back with the order slip and said we only ordered 1 brisket and gravy. After insisting we had order 2, she went back to expedite the missing order (Now over 15 minutes after my wife received her order).
Finally I received my order.
The fries were very good, but the brisket was tough and very hard to eat. It comes in a sandwich but is near impossible to eat as that. You have to take it apart to eat.
This is one of the only sit-down restaurants that I have eaten at that does not provide complementary refills on soft drinks.
There was absolutely NO ACCOUNTABLITY at this location, the waitress finally returned to ask how everything was going, never mentioning thee mix up. When my wife told her that I had not received my order, her answer was that I had not ordered anything other then the Gravy.
The Ugly This restaurant is very understaffed, as we waited for a table (I understand that we are in a pandemic and they are reduced sitting), I counted at least 4 tables in eyesight that were sitting empty but had leftover dishes from previous customers. The tables sat this way for at least 15 minutes. The hostess went and cleaned off a table for my wife and I. Tables make money when customers sit on them, in this instance (4 tables x 15 minutes = 1 hour) meant that you had a combined table sit for 1 hour (average check for 2 around $60 without alcoholic drinks). Economics show that if you hire 1 bus person at $15 hour easily pays for itself.
Verdict Would I eat there, NO, the food was below par, the service was below par, and absolutely no effort was made to compensate for the...
Read moreBilly Bones came to Canada for Ribfest and upon arrival I promptly pointed the kiosk out to my mother as a must-do. We waited in line without issue because we were about to procure quality ribs. We got to the order area and spoke with a tall brunette with shorts and shades on, wearing all black as the others were. She was very disingenuous when we were speaking with her, laying the "friendly" on very thick; while waiting we inquired about the heat and how the crew was doing and even apologizing for the heat they were enduring on our behalf. Shortly thereafter our food arrived in a sauce soaked paper container that was soggy and falling apart, while trying to figure out how to pick it up, the same young woman was pushing our container to the side with force while taking on another customer before we could even think; she pushed our container with the back of her hand while speaking to the next person and then turned to us and said in a pushing and condescending manner and a forced tone "yeah guys, great, have great day", all while shoving our bin to the side. I asked for another container and she made a face as if it was a chore to her and I'm fully aware how hot it was. An originally exciting opportunity to get some of my traditionally favorite ribs was sullied by her poor service. We went this passed Sunday. Very disappointed in this...
Read moreGot a brisket meal with 3 extra sides, shared among 2 people, seems like not a Lot of food at first but once you get eating, you start realizing how filling everything is!
Strongly recommend the mac and cheese, slightly overcooked noodles but the cheese sauce is awesome!! Also a lot of people like squishy Mac over al dente anyway so it makes sense!
Corn was decent, it’s corn, can’t go wrong with corn.
Coleslaw was light in the mayo which is actually super nice, pairs with the meat perfectly!
Brisket was well cooked, had its fatty and chewy and melt in your mouth parts!
Cornbread was very dense and super filling, comes with this delicious sweet butter, feels like eating dessert, very reminiscent of dense pancakes, really good but avoid it if you don’t like dense items.
Best things though were the service and the atmosphere, you get a bit of the AC and a bit of the breeze sitting in the middle area!
Also music next door is at a good volume sitting across from it!
Our server Chai was also very helpful with the portion sizes and what’s good, huge shoutout to her!
Ask for her, she knows what’s up!
For 40$ a person including voluntary tip this was well worth it!!
