My friends wanted to go get ice cream but I didn't wanna wait in line, so I decided to go check out this Haunted house attraction. It caught my eye off the street better than the two other spooky attractions up the street with the somewhat amusing animatronics of the butler with the shakes, and the werewolf head on the wall howling at the moon while a chandelier swinging skeleton chattered away. I went in, having never even looked up reviews for this place, and asked the lady at the front counter some basic questions in a light-hearted way, such as: "are there scare-actors?" She said no, it's mostly animatronics and some effects. "Are there sound jumpscares? And bright flashing lights?" She was a little more vague with this answer but I was able to gage it would not be too frightening, especially when she said "if you're looking for something really scary, I could recommend Nightmares(?) up the street" but I reassured her that no no, this is perfect haha. I had my foam earplugs in as I'm a bit sensitive, and was the only customer. It was 2am, and I received a short spiel about the benefits of buying certain passes that could hook me up with admission to multiple surrounding attractions - which I appreciated she didn't push when I declined. She was very kind and understanding. Ticket for one adult person was about $17 including taxes, which isn't bad in my opinion ... but I HIGHLY recommend going with a companion or friends. I went in alone and let out a few small yelps as the animatronics rattled against the cages separating them from me. But what REALLY got me to let out a good shriek of surprise and then delight was a certain hallway where a cool trick of practical effects using bursts of air flowing through small rubber hoses and equipped with a string or something tickled my shins while I cautiously passed a hall. That really made me jump and I couldn't help but stop and stare in awe and giggle to myself a little. Though, it was quite dark and hard to see, I enjoyed the stunt as it did its job without leaving me rattled haha. I later found myself struggling to gather courage to pass between two animatronic cages. When I finally did, I was presented with a crossroads sign showing the 'chicken exit' which would allow me to exit without seeing the rest of the attraction, or to continue to the left further into what I believe, is the actual Haunted house as the previous setup was perhaps outdoor themed like walking up/through the gates of a manor. I took the chicken exit, and was a little confused to find myself entering a neighboring attraction with what looked like a jungle gym and ball pits. Again, this is 2am, and the place is empty, no staff. THIS was eerie and I found myself wondering if this was a bit to make a false sense of security. But NOPE, thankfully it was a real exit shortcut and I was able to simply walk out the front door of this neighboring attraction and return to the Haunted house's front desk, announcing and informing the kind attendant that I'm a chicken and took the shortcut exit. She shared some laughs with me and pointed to the camera monitors I hadn't seen before. I definitely think this is a more kitschy and amusing spooky attraction that instills a sense of being surprised and unnerved but serves up a good portion of amusement and some laughs at our own reactions to the tricks. I would highly recommend going with friends so you can chuckle at each other's reactions and brave through as a team or duo, but it's important to note it wasn't that scary. A lot of the negative reviews here are complaining about the lack of scare actors and genuine fear or terror, but that's not what I saw advertised, and I was looking for somwthing a little more merciful and lighthearted. Also, some of these bad reviews are mistaking this attraction for other spooky ones nearby. Now, a day later, I find myself wondering what the rest of the Haunted house would have been like if I had accepted the attendant's offer to let me in again for free and to use my flashlight. Thank you, Haunted House,...

Best horror attraction on Clifton Hill! The Haunted House is a fun, horror/scare themed walk-thru amusement, full of great scary displays and animatronic spooks & monsters. Much like the House of Frankenstein, just up the street, there are several maze-like floors of hallways for patrons to navigate through.

The Haunted House had no live actors and was better lit throughout but full of great creepy stuff to see and encounter. Overall, I think it was taken care of and displayed better than the House of Frankenstein and Dracula' Castle, just a few doors up (tho that was closed, hopefully for renovations).

This one is probably slightly more kid-friendly, though not Scooby-Doo level, so be cautioned. On the other hand, if you are looking to get terrified, this isn't gonna do that either. I'll definitely be...

FRAUDULENT BUSINESS! This place scammed me out of $50 dollars. The lady uses unethical methods of commerce to deceive customers into purchasing something without clearly stating refund policy. A small sign (out of sight of the customer) has the refund policy “written out”, but a no refund policy must ALWAYS be transferred for customer via SPEAKING. This business practices deception, clearly did not take Intro to Business Classes in high school.

Anyways save your money, use it to empower students aspiring in the fields of finance and business, PEOPLE WHO USE ETHICAL METHODS OF COMMERCE unlike this...

More fun than scary. Running through the dark, running into the hanging body bags and dancing on the tilting floor while cracking Simpson jokes such as when Bart and Lisa go on the haunted house coaster at the carnival. The hologram artwork is pretty is also cool. Being corny is it's charm. Make sure to go with a combo pass. Solo it's to pricey.

Wasn’t scary . We took the medium level and it was all about sounds effects , I wish we had taken the highest level . We paid 15.99 per head but frankly it wasn’t worth the money . Not for adults. Children may enjoy and get little scared .
