Stayed recently for two nights at this hotel in the north part of the Falls area near the Ambassador Bridge entrance/exit. About a 5 minute walk from Bird Kingdom which was excellent. Hotel bathrooms are beginning to show their age and showers need updating from one piece plastic to tile. Water pressure from an older shower head was a little low. We were on upper floor. Had Jacuzzi style tub but didn't use it. Toilets are the standard height and should be upgraded to higher heights. Fridge does not have a freezer portion and is small so we could not keep our pizza box in it very well. Bed seemed to be clean but not sure if there was sand or something near pillows area or soap crumbs?? Elevator in hotel stopped wherever anyone called for it whether you were going up or down so be prepared for that. People coming and going to rooms from elevators need to keep their voices down, it does carry into rooms. Make sure the A/C fan is on high to block hallway noises. The TVs in the rooms were quite small by today's standards - maybe 29"? Good channel selection though. And there was a channel guide provided which you don't always see these days. Maybe need some paid movie channels? There was a breakfast provided consisting of reconstituted eggs, some kind of "sausage", hard boiled eggs, and various cereals and breads. Wish there was some whole wheat options for breads.. There were green bananas one day and Delicious apples on second day. Likely because of hangover of COVID rules but there could be more tables as it was quite busy, even for June. Had to wait for tables each day. Breakfast ran from 7:00 to 10:30 a.m. which was nice to spread it out. Parents do need to control their young children from running around tables and running back and forth to food areas. Teach them not to touch or cough on things!!! There is a dent sized pool which did not seem to be used much even though it was hot outside. The water was cool to tepid. Pool area needs lots more ventilation as it was quite stuffy in there. Towels were kindly provided in pool area. Another ice machine needed on upper floors 6 or 7 please. The parking lot needs to be repaved. Parking cost $15.00/night which was a surprise since we were told on phone when booking that it was free. Funny thing was there were at least 3-4 parking lots right next door charging $5.00/day or night and other lots close by were $10.00/day. Staff was quite friendly and helpful and thanks to Brendon for the restaurant recommendation to Antica. Front desk staff on checkout was efficient and also quite friendly. Very well done. Location of hotel is quite close to the Clifton Hill district. No vies of any Falls as the Waterpark is directly in the way. There are so many restaurants and activities well within walking distance. Clifton Hill is about 8 minute walk. A walk to the American Falls takes about 20-25 minutes and double that to Horseshoe Falls. We walked down for the evening fireworks display which was nice and right at 10:00 p.m. Only issue is the Parks Police had to close off a large portion of walkway to set off fireworks safely causing people to walk quite a long way around the area. Getting so used to no smoking everywhere that anyone smoking always bothers me as you walk along there. Overall it was a decent hotel that needs a little work in upgrades to make it a great hotel. Certainly in a good location for road access and access to most things in Clifton Hill area. Wish there not so many extra little costs imposed because of Niagara Falls entertainment fees here and there. Adds about $10-15.00 to each night's stay. Would I...
Read moreI believe there are some egregious happenings in your hotel that you should be aware of. Early this morning we called looking for an early check in and spoke to a very pleasant and friendly woman Amanda I think but not 100%. Who advised us if there is a room ready it was absolutely possible but it's not guaranteed ..totally understandable, but said we were more than welcome to come in, give her or whoever was at the reception our information and we could get a parking pass so we could still be able to enjoy the day., then she wished us a safe trip and was looking forward to seeing us later We ended up later than expected so it was fine. HOWEVER...... This afternoon when my husband and I checked in as our nephew is part of a group of basketball players...children (not that that should matter), we were NOT met with the same welcoming atmosphere or employee...we were verbally assaulted by the loudest woman I have ever come across. Not only did she yell during our entire time at the counter, she reeked of alcohol, which is probably why she wouldn't look directly at us. We asked a few questions, like how warm the pool is and the frequency of its cleaning and received "I don't know" with an eye roll and still zero eye contact... for the majority of answers. We were also advised if we wanted a "good breakfast with better food" to try a local place...Manor something or other. It was then we knew we should have waited to deal with the other young lady at the counter who seemed sweet to her guests. With the amount of people waiting I am shocked there were only 2 ladies working (and I use that term for the one VERY lightly) As we were heading out to our nephew's first game I stopped back at the desk to ask for extra towels to be brought up, and was thankfully greeted by the other girl with curly hair as the original one was busy buying cartons of cigarettes at your counter. As someone who works for a lawyer, and being educated I know that's highly illegal. (No I am not reporting it) however, there are family's...and ultimately it's unprofessional and so tacky. It's obvious you are working on keeping the hotel very clean and you seem to be able to employ some lovely employees but her.....she makes all of that disappear and I assume has something to do with your 2 star rating. There is nothing I am looking for at all so please don't think I am one of those people. I just desperately wanted to bring this to your attention against my husband's pleading to just let it be. Your hotel is cute and seems to have incredible potential with a great location but you definitely need to be aware of how some of the mice play when the cat is away. Have a lovely...
Read moreOverall, for a romantic suite for two, this room is highly recommended! We spent our 25th wedding anniversary here in the king room.
We did a lot of research in the Niagara Falls area for hotels such as this, and this was hands-down the best deal on a budget during the Christmas month.
The breakfast selection was amazing, and the staff were constantly keeping the breakfast area cleaned and stocked. There was fresh fruit, coffee, tea, yogurt, cereal, scrambled eggs, sausages, English muffins, various tarts, cinnamon rolls, and of course the waffle irons (to die for). Once the breakfast bar was closed, they moved the coffee just outside for accessiblility. After doing all our research, this was one thing that was hard to find. "What kind of complimentary breakfast do they have?" Well... they have something for everyone! For those with toddlers, they do NOT have high chairs! Just to forewarn those with small children.
Although you do have to pay a little extra for parking, compared to rooms at other hotels, it's still the best deal.
The service when both checking in and out was amazing. Friendly staff and service. The early check in was also amazing so we could walk around and check out the sights.
The room was near perfect. When getting to the room, we were greeted with a bottle of red wine and some snacks to celebrate our anniversary. The room had a single serve coffee maker, microwave, and fridge in our room, which was perfect for the charcuterie we packed. We did notice a few hairs in places like the sink and jacuzzi, which we cleaned ourselves. We brought some supplies in case (we Google everything before we commit to doing anything). The only thing we found was that the shower door and bathroom door both swung into the bathroom. Very awkward trying to maneuver in such a tiny area. We figured it's due to the jacuzzi in the middle of the room, which we were both willing to put up with.
A few things we would have liked to see would be a "Smart television" in the room. This way, you have the option for wireless connectivity to a device. Also, the option for bath robes (although we never asked to see if it WAS an option).
Finally, the pool. A little cool, but possibly because it was winter when we went. To those wondering. At the time this was posted... "THE HOT TUB IS CLOSED!" If you do your research beforehand like we did, you'll know this. May I suggest getting a room with a jacuzzi in it to offset that?
All in all, 4.5 🌟, and as much as we don't want to put a rating this high and give away what seems to be a hidden gem, the hotel and all of its staff deserve it.
We will definitely...
