I had the pleasure of staying at Brockamour Manor in Niagara-on-the-Lake for my daughter's birthday, and it was an experience beyond words. We chose 'The Loft' for our stay, the room was not just spacious but exuded a unique charm that left us awe-struck.
With vaulted ceilings and skylights throughout, 'The Loft' had an ambiance of its own. We enjoyed the two king-sized beds, ample seating, and the privacy of the 3rd floor made it a perfect choice for our celebration.
The private ensuite was a highlight in itself, featuring a large jacuzzi tub tucked beneath skylights, and was well enjoyed after a day of exploring the downtown and some of the local wineries.
What sets Brockamour Manor apart, aside from its stunning rooms, are the welcoming hosts, Diki and Alex. Their warm hospitality made us feel like we were staying with friends rather than at a traditional inn. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout our stay.
Now, let's talk about the food – it was nothing short of exceptional. From the homemade butter tarts to the three-course breakfast, our taste buds were treated to a culinary journey. The breakfast consisted of local fruit, a delicious savory biscuit, and French toast with homemade blueberry topping and candied bacon. It was a breakfast experience that will forever remain etched in our memories.
Lastly, the location couldn't have been more perfect. A nice quick walk to downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake allowed us to explore the charming town effortlessly.
Our stay at Brockamour Manor was a celebration of comfort, elegance, and exquisite dining. If you're looking for a memorable getaway, whether it's a romantic escape or a special occasion like ours, I wholeheartedly recommend visting Diki & Alex at the Brockamour Manor. You won't find a better combination of spacious and charming accommodations, welcoming hosts, delectable food, and a convenient location. Our daughter's birthday will forever be associated with this magical experience.
Thank you, Diki and Alex, for making our stay so extraordinary. We can't...
Read moreWhere to start? We stayed this past weekend at the Brockamour. What a treat to stay in this historic property, circa 1809. Not only was our room (Sister Isabella) finely appointed, complete with all the amenities, including central air and a backup unit, but ceiling fans, toiletries etc. Lots of historical charm in the entire property, with the old mill floor board and carpeting. Manicured gardens, a spotless interior and the loveliest housemaster, Diki and her husband Alex and 2 young children. The care, the attention to detail (fresh tarts daily, restaurant quality 3 course breakfast that she announces after each course, complimentary sherry, water, coffee/tea, etc is next level). Having stayed at many a 5-star property courtesy of my Amex card, I would rank this our first B&B stay on par with other stays in high end European hotels. Of course, it's different, but this was real character; something you dont see in modern buildings. Each morning, sitting at one of two tables and spending 45 mins chatting with other world travellers while having a formal breakfast was brilliant. By the time we left, we actually left a large tip because our trip was subsidized by an auction-winning charity bid. So, we had no choice but to recognize these two extremely hard-working 'regular people' who seemed to work tirelessly to make our stay so pleasant. Thanks, Diki, for restaurant recommendations on 2 separate nights. The fact that you juggle raising a young family in an adjacent space was so amazing. You are a superhero without a cape. Finally, to realize that these two owners felt it within their hearts to donate rooms so that CAMH could raise funds is simply amazing. How many of the big Niagara on the Lake brands (Pillar&Post, Oban Inn) would donate nights in prime summer high season to charity? That is unselfishness at its best and is so emblematic of the genuineness of this couple. So many of us will no doubt leave this place, looking at Diki in particular, and be inspired by what she and Alex have built since purchasing...
Read moreJust came back from a night at the Brockamour Manor, which is hands-down the best bed and breakfast in Niagara on the Lake!
It's a historic property located in the heart of Niagara on the Lake, directly across from the Butler’s Barracks National Historic Site. It’s within walking distance of Queen Street and has ample parking on site.
The new owners, Melanie & Matt are quite possibly the perfect hosts! We spent hours chatting with them about the history of the house. By checkout, it felt like we were old friends!
The common spaces are so cozy and welcoming. We didn’t hesitate to start a fire in the evening, play a round of pool and enjoy some homemade pecan tarts and sherry, which all guests can help themselves to from the hallway.
We spent the night in the Lady Sophia Suite, which has a very comfortable king size bed and a recently renovated ensuite bathroom - it looks like something straight off of Pinterest!
I had a peek at the other guest rooms, which are all unique in their own way. In my opinion, Brock’s Bedchambers is the most luxurious and the air-conditioned loft is great for families!
In the morning, Melanie whipped up an amazing four-course breakfast. We started with fruit, a homemade lemon poppyseed scone and a selection of jellies. Then, we had (dare I say, the best ever) eggs benedict with hollandaise sauce and potatoes. And we finished with a light and refreshing slice of strawberry cream cake.
Do not hesitate to book a stay at the Brockamour! I'm just dreaming of the day...
