Hotel Hostel El Escorial — Hotel in Viña del Mar

We stayed here three nights and were absolutely pleased with everything. The hotel is very humble and modest but yet so cozy and warm. We were in rooms 24 & 27 upstairs and they were very good. The hotel is very simple, don't expect any luxury or superficial things: but it has everything you need, it is clean and confortable.|The hotel is very well located, near the coast, the city center and malls. The manager (Marcela) was so nice and helpful ! The staff was great. Wifi worked well too.|The price is more than reasonable and the breakfast is included. The only remarks maybe would be 1) the breakfast, which could be improved (add cheese, more cornflakes, fresh fruit and not from a can,...). It was still quite good! It has a great location close to the seafront and bars to go out at night. I originally ended up there because it has triple rooms which can also be an advantage. It has free wifi and breakfast is included. It is family run and the staff are friendly. Prices in Vina del Mar can be very high and the relation price-quality is not very good in general. As such this place is better than others in the same price category... However when compared to B&B /guest houses I have stayed in in other countries for a similar price, then this is really not as good. The place is old (fittings and furniture have seen better days), and not entirely clean (carpets, shower curtains for example). The breakfast is simple a plus-point is they will serve it in your room for no cost...

As our hotel was booked out we were sent to this location which from the outside didn't look so fancy. It is run by a nice argentine man who knows his business - we were welcomed warmly and from this second on showed its full hospitability. Nice made rooms, tidy and silent even when located in the heart of the city. Whatever we asked for he or his employees were trying to support us.
