Cardinals Estate Hostal — Hotel in Quindío

Great views for morning and evening, over looking the valley and town below, Jose was our contact. He spoke only Spanish but we were able to communicate easily regardless he was very pleasant and arrives in the mornings to our door with fresh coffee! The hostal sits on top a hill and has a steep entrance which is not really suitable for older travellers i would imagine, added to that the road is dimly lit and uneven from the town.bring a torch at night. All things considered it was a wonderful place to stay beds are very comfortable and rooms clean and large!||||I recommend the hostal ditch the old tvs and get smart tvs which allows users to view there own content (I say this as an English speaking person of course) after the long hikes around this beautiful area its nice to chill and watch tv as it can be very tiring, also i noticed no a/c or wall fans it was fine for our visit but i dont know how hot it gets in...

The finca is located just outside of the main square of beautiful Salento, on a lovely hillside, a short 5 minute walk up a secluded road. There is free water and beds are comfortable.||||That's about it for the positives. Cost is $150,000 pesos per night for a basic private hostel room. Electric shower that barely works, unreliable Wi-Fi, breakfast not included unlike most other hostels in the area ($7000 for below avg hostel breakfast). Staff noisy in the morning, which is a shame because otherwise it's very quit and peaceful. The sole indoor common area looks nice through the window, but for some reason is padlocked. Laundry service costs a bizarre $3000 pesos per clothing item.||||Overall, Salento has much better offerings for the money. The hostal has the best views of Salento. It is only a few minutes walk from downtown Salento, which means you get to rest in a cozy mountain like environment (getting a local feel) and can easily head down to the center of Salento to experience the restaurants, shops and tours on Jeep Willys.|The service was great, rooms very clean and the staff was always very helpful and friendly. |The hostal has great patio areas which you can use to enjoy great local coffee and just be enchanted by the fantastic views. |They have easy access to the top of the mountain, where you can take great pictures with the huge and colorful SALENTO sign. |The hostel give my husband and I a great home away from home feeling.|Thank you and look forward to...
