Hotel Boutique Casa del Viento — Hotel in Santa Marta

We stayed at Casa del Viento for 2 nights after a very exhausting trek to the Lost City and we really loved it! Prior to that we stayed in another hotel claiming to be ‘boutique’ and we were very dissapointed so were a bit worried before we first checked in to Casa del Viento. ||||Casa del Viento didn’t dissapoint and was really great! The room was really spacious and the decoration very charming. The staff were really helpful, providing us with recommendations, directions and taxis, and even stored our bags while we spent one night at Tayrona park. ||||The location was right in the lively centre of Santa Marta, about 2 mins walk from the main square. We were a little concerned about the number of loud bars and clubs close by but there was no noise in the room at all. Rented out the whole hotel, which was very cool. They gave us the keys and left the places entirely to us. The location is amazing right in the middle of everything, restaurants, clubs, and bars. Couldn't have asked for a better location. We stayed for three nights with seven people and each had a room to our selves. The part where the review lost stars is the water stoped working for a day and a half, and when it came back it was brown for hours. We kept calling them to come fix it and and they came quick but they kept telling us it will work in an hour or so and didn't. The electricity kept turning on and off for a whole day. Right in the centre of town, this hotel has much to offer for very reasonable prices. The decoration is beautiful and rooms are individually furnished. Our room was spacious and very comfortable (especially appreciated after a trek in the jungle!), including tea and coffee-making facilities and a welcome drink at the beginning. Ikaro, the restaurant across the road that provides food for the hotel guests, is a lovely oasis of calm and healthy meals. Maximum 10 mins walk to the Gold Museum. Highly...
