Guesthouse Peter — Hotel in Dubrovnik

Hotels.com should not have this on its list, Other than the Location, there is nothing positive to say about this place. Owner was not there we arrived and were kept waiting despite giving 1 hour notice , room allocated was on the ground floor, at the time of booking I was not given a choice, Owner arrived in the afternoon wanting her money immediately only in cash, Room was damp our clothes were wet the next day hanging on an open rack not a wardrobe. We never saw her again, only heard her on the phone most of the time and singing, even though she lives at the top of the building.There is no private kitchenette, it is shared between 3 rooms, dirty dishes left in the sink, no washing liquid. Our Toilet had the wastepaper behind the toilet pipe with a plastic bag covering it, tocatch the drips as it was leaking, so floor was constantly wet, the tiles were cracked in the tiny shower room, only 1 small mirror in the shower room, which was impossible to stand in front of because of the toilet, no cold water in the sink, Bath towels are small. On the day we were to check out she had insisted when she took her money that we were to leave by 10am as she had other people coming, I said could we stay till noon, she said no, but no was there at 9.30am to leave the keys so we left the luggage in the corridor and came back at 4pm and the room was unmade so she lied. I could go on, Boycott this place, she is a disgrace to the Dubrovnik Tourism, she charges 90 euros a night daylight robbery, I hope she declares this money to the tax man!!!!, but asking only for cash makes you wonder!! TL;DR host is non-communicative, tries to swindle you and gives a worse room than what you reserved, cancels your booking without notification and blames you for his own shortcomings. STAY AWAY!

The host is such a low quality human that this review would be deleted if I said what I really think about him. First I tried calling the host the day before to ask how the check in will happen since there was no information on it in booking.com (the name there is deluxe rooms with terrace view). He got angry about it for some reason and said that I was wasting his time.

On the check in day the host was late almost 30 minutes and I was waiting in front of the apartment building. When he arrived he started leading me away to another apartment building because apparently my room was still occupied. When I asked what this new apartment is called he said B&B BUZA which other reviewers have already pointed out contains bed bugs and other nasty things. I refused to go there and demanded that I get the room I booked. He refused and said I can get it at 20:00 that day and that I was giving him problems.

Well I went to the apartment I had booked at 20:00 and surprise surprise he didn't show up. I messaged him to ask where he was and he said that because I was being a "problem he cancelled my booking without notification or anything. He eventually came to the apartment complex and refused to even speak to me.

We paid for a deluxe room. When I got here there was no front desk or no one to meet us. We then walked in and saw the key places on the door of our room that we paid for. We walked in it was what the picture showed. Then he called my husband and told him to get out of the room and threaten us to call the police. Then he showed up to the room and yelled to get out after we showed him the reservation he said he didn't care. We then got all our stuff and walked out puzzled and figured out what to do. Then Peter called and said he will be back in 15 mins and make sure we were out of the room. When peter showed up he then placed us in another room in another place inside the city walls and not what we had paid for. We had paid $400 deluxe room and got a Smaller room, AC not working, shower doors broken as well as clogged and no TV. He took us to Ulica Dura Baglivija # 6 which is not the address from the booking then he had the nerve to tell us we needed to pay cash an additional 11€ for city taxes. Which we didn't pay. When at the end of the day we were ready to go to sleep we started to see BED BUGS more like infestation of BED bugs. We had messaged Peter about it and sent him pictures his response was "just kill them". Peter was supposed to come and sort it out however never came...
