Game Of Thrones Dubrovnik — Local services in Dubrovnik

Our family visited Dubrovnik in July 2018 and my son and I, both Game of Thrones fan, signed up for this tour. Our tour guide, Robert, was simply amazing. He had extensive knowledge of the series--he had even been an extra during multiple seasons. Robert's selection of locations and descriptions really brought the show to life and taught us all about the magic of making a series like GoT with so many different locations. His command of English was beyond excellent--a fantastic sense of humor, patience with questions, and he also shared deep insights about Dubrovnik as well as his personal experience from when the city was in rougher shape during the civil war. The tour lasted about 2 hours and 30 minutes and included amazing views, fascinating facts about Game of Thrones, and was very educational about Dubrovnik and Croatia. Our family is Croatian-American and we were visiting Croatia for the first time. Robert's pride in his city and his country (we happened to be there during the World Cup finals!) left a deep impression on us and filled us with our own pride about our own Croatian heritage. We booked the tour prior to arrival in Dubrovnik, via the website and email, and the booking process was quick and efficient and I was provided with lots of information. We met Robert our guide for the first part of the tour, the walking tour around the old town. Robert was an excellent guide, so knowledgeable, funny and made the experience for us. We didn't want it to end! It was only a small group which meant you could always hear him and see what he was showing us. We loved finding about his star roles within the show and this insight made the tour seem more genuine. Seeing all the places where filming took place was amazing and Robert made it come to life. I even did the Shame steps with my husband ringing the bell (with my clothes on of course) and I have never laughed so hard. We then moved onto the extended part of the tour, which was well worth it. There was only the two of us so it felt extra special and Kreso our guide was brilliant. Again he knew so much and you could tell he was a genuine fan and it wasn't just a job to him. I would highly recommend the extra few hours seeing other parks of Dubrovnik where filming took place. We booked the full day tour with Doria who had been recommended by our family who had toured with them on a previous visit. The walking tour was fantastic, Robert (who is admittedly the best extra in Game of Thrones) took us all around the town showing us all the locations. He was super friendly and knowledgeable and lots of fun too! He even got involved taking picture for us with the props and couldn’t do enough to make the walking tour fantastic. After a short break for food, we then got collected by Kreso for the out of town parts that not only included GoT locations but also lots of local facts and history to boot too! Again, Kreso was super friendly and great at getting involved and getting us some fantastic pictures. The mini van was air conditioned which was a major plus point given how hot a day it was! The tour lasted from early morning to late afternoon so the value for money was incredible too. It’s clear how passionate these guys are about both the area and game of thrones.
