If there is one place I would stay when visiting Dubrovnik, it's here. From its unbeatable location to the beautiful rooms to the excellent breakfast to the OUTSTANDING service, it's truly the best overall accommodation I've been in and I've travelled to over fifty countries. First the location. It's just a thirty-second walk to the Pile Gate of the old town; you can't get much closer without being inside the old town itself. But despite being so close to the hustle and bustle, it's still peaceful and quiet with a heavy metal gate and a lush well-tendered garden blocking out basically all noise. It's refreshing to hear the birds chirping and the trees rustling while being so close to the old town. It's like an oasis. Then there's the rooms, of which there are only six. The one I was in was the "doctor's room" and features wonderfully-maintained and original 19th-century furniture alongside modern pieces, which was cool, and the story about the doctor who owned the house a century ago was fascinating. The room size was spacious enough for this part of Europe as well and the shower and bed were excellent which is important to me. Next, the breakfast served every morning is a fantastic spread, with freshly-baked breads and pastries, hard-boiled eggs, yoghurt, hummus, a variety of fruits, charcuterie board, juices, coffee, and more. I especially loved the sweet pistachio croissant which was served both mornings of my stay; it's as good as any croissant I've had in Paris. And even better, there's something different each time, with the first morning's fruits including watermelon while the second morning's included honeydew melon. Lastly, the service particularly from Ivana was better than any five-star accommodation I've ever stayed in. She was warm and friendly, helped with the luggage on arrival and departure, gave excellent information about the accommodation and Dubrovnik/Croatia in general, and provided tips for sightseeing and how to save money (for example, if there are two people, it's cheaper to Uber to the cable car summit return than to pay for the cable car tickets). She also served the breakfast on the second morning and provided valuable insights into Dubrovnik life and I talked her ear off and she was always obliging and helpful with any questions I had. Even on departure, when I went to collect the luggage after storing there for the morning, I wanted a rest and to use the restroom, she offered me a coffee as well; that's just incredible service. Ivana is the epitome of service and I've never come across anyone who's as good as her. I know this sounds like a paid advertisement for Heritage Villa Nobile but only because the stay was that good. If you don't believe me then you will just have to see for yourself. Me and the other 38 Google reviews...
Read moreWe wanted to stay close to the old town and the location was wonderful. We were initially very excited when we arrived. The room was a bit small, but we thought well.. it’s in the middle of everything. |But at night, after a whole day walking around, the room was hot. There was no one in the front desk and the thermostat didn’t work. We were told when we checked in that we could call a number only if there was a true emergency- such us if one of us needed to go to the hospital. I guess this should have been a red flag. Regardless, we opened the windows but it was noisy and even though there was a screen, small bugs got in. It was horrendous. We woke up at 4 ish and when we finally fell asleep the noise from the courtyard and breakfast preparation woke us up at 5.40-6? We asked the manager about the temperature control and the response was we turned the ac off and just open the windows. We mentioned we were leaving the next morning and asked about transportation and she said- oh it’s around 50 euros but maybe just can an uber or taxi. This was immediately followed by can you set the bill now- when we were actually dressed and ready to leave for our last dinner in Dubrovnik. |The entire experience was odd and certainly did not feel welcomed. We booked this hotel due to all the wonderful reviews but it was a disappointment. |Luckily we split our time in Croatia and stayed in another hotel in Lapad the first few days and had a wonderful experience. |Don’t waste your money here and certainly don’t get fooled by the 5/5 reviews. Besides the location, not much...
Read moreHotel Heritage Villa Nobile is an amazing boutique hotel at the perfect location. It is across the street from Pile Gate and Lovrjenac Fort. This hotel is a 2-minute walk to the main entrance into old town and the primary access point to the City Walls.
This hotel is right next to a public parking and a row of taxis. With this hotel taxis can drop you right off from the airport and you don’t have to drag your luggage into old town. Super easy to find!
This hotel has a private garden to escape the crowds of tourists and passengers from cruise ships. The private garden has orange trees, lots of seating, covered areas in the rain, and heat lamps in the cold weather.
The garden courtyard is where you’ll be served an impressive and delicious breakfast. I highly recommend the pistachio croissant if they have any left… it was the best croissant I ate in Europe!
The rooms are newly renovated with modern bathrooms, air conditioning, lighting, wifi, smart TVs, etc. Each room has a unique theme and a blend of modern and antique furniture.
The best part is the customer service and hospitality. Beri was an outstanding host. She welcome me during my late night arrival and served me breakfast the next morning. She provided me blankets outside in the chilly weather, umbrellas for the rain, map of the city, and advice on places to visit during my stay.
You’ll love your stay at Hotel Heritage Villa Nobile, where they treat you...
