Penzion Po Vode — Hotel in okres Český Krumlov

We stayed 2 nights in September. ROOM: It was big enough for 2 and was the only room we had in Europe that included a refrigerator. She also had some tea bags, etc with a plug in tea pot which was nice. The bathroom was very large. Traveling in Europe, I am used to small bathrooms with even smaller showers. This room had a huge bathroom with a spacious shower. LOCATION: We had a wonderful view of the river (which is fun for watching water fights with canoes that go by). It is a short walk into the old town. BREAKFAST: Pay the money and get the breakfast!! It is worth it. In addition to a buffet of sweet rolls, bread, jams, and fruit, she lets you choose from a menu for eggs, meats and cheeses, etc. We always had the scrambled bacon and eggs and they were delicious. HOSTESS: I saved the best for last. Our hostess was very accommodating and had a charming personality. Different members of her family stopped by on multiple occasions while we were there. Stayed only one night while traveling from Vienna to Prague, but wanted to spend the evening in Cesky Krumlov. We were able to get 2 rooms for 5 people. This is a small penzion, not a hotel. It overlooks the river and from the rooms, you can see the many rafts floating by. It was a little walk into town, 10-15 min. ||Our rooms were on the second floor (3rd level). They were simple with beds and a toilet and shower for each. It was quite warm at night, fans would be helpful...||The hostess, Jana, is lovely and really does her very best to make you comfortable. Although she does not speak English, she goes out of her way to have things translated. She came out to greet us as we arrived and when we left. ||I used google translate to ask some more complicated things and that worked great as well. ||We had the breakfast with her and she made a wonderful breakfast. Entering this hotel is entering a fairy tale🪄💫..beautiful interior, cozy, great craftsmanship, unique authentic atmosphere, and great hostess. We didn't want to leave at all. The hotel has a great location and parking. In the morning, you will walk through a picturesque alley up to Mouse Hole, the park, the bridge with the amazing view, the mill, i.e. to places that many tourists don't even visit as you approach the city from the other side. Over the river, opposite the hotel there is Egon Shile's house and the Synagogue.
