Horrendous experience. ||||On the last day of our trip to Czech we wanted to see Cesky Krumlov, so we booked the accommodation well in advanced. ||Only several days before our arrival we received a message saying the pension is managed by a local hotel and we would have to call them when we arrived; They would then arrive within 5 minutes to check us in. ||||Google Maps led us to the pension and on the window was a sign with the phone number of the hotel. As we don't live in the EU, having to call them was very inconvenient - Should have at least been mentioned during the booking or further in advance. ||The gentleman on the phone said they would be there soon, but we ended up waiting in the cold for 25(!) minutes. When the lady from the hotel arrived, she mentioned she went to the other side of the building, which was apparently the main entrance - This should either have been mentioned on the phone, on the sign with the phone number and instructions, or during the booking. ||||On top of this, we were told our room was not ready (14:30 by now) and we were not allowed to enter the pension even when we requested this - instead we were asked to hand over our bags so they would store them for us while we could explore the city - a kind gesture, but it meant we had to repack our belongings out on the street and hand over our valuables to a complete stranger without any confirmation she is actually a staff member (no uniform, name card, reservation documents, etc.) nor knowing the exact location of our luggage. ||||To make up for the delays we were offered a complimentary drink after our sightseeing. The young waiter was rather rude (he had an attitude, seemingly because our drinks were free) and we again waited 15 minutes before our drinks(!) were served - to the point we were about to leave angry. After quickly finishing our drinks we went back to the reception as instructed to finally check in - only to be told the lady had left her station (again) and we were once again left waiting in the lobby. When she came back and we pre-paid our stay, she did not have change and we once again had to wait while she went looking for coins elsewhere. ||When we then finally were led to the pension (about a 5-8 min walk) we were shown our room... on which only one side of the bed was made (for 1 person). ||||The room was very specious, clean and lovely. Great beds and warm blankets. The best room of our stay in Czech. Unfortunately completely ruined by the unprofessional and unapologetic attitudes of the staff and the unorganized administration. Our bus left at 7 am the next day and we hardly had any time left to enjoy the gorgeous place and lovely shops it had to offer. ||Absolute waste of money and a disappointing end of...
Read moreI thought that I would have given this a harsher rating. But something about this place makes me smile. Is it Cesky Krumlov itself? Maybe...||Three of us had a room, unfortunately we were given a room with a double, a single and a single bed in the kitchen. Yep! The shower is a hand held head which I despise and can't seem to get the whole hold between legs while washing hair thing...||Our room was actually down the stairs and through the dining room....hello everyone, don't mind me... luckily I had street access to avoid the pedestrian traffic.||It is neat and tidy and comfortable which is exactly what you need. In such a medieval and picturesque town, you're not going to be spending much time inside.||I recommend a kayak on the river Vltava, check out the Zamecka Vez castle, and take in a feast of pheasant, rabbit and mulled wine....||Just wait for the...
Read moreExcellent location on the outskirts of the old town. Possibility to park in a private parking lot (15€/day). Pension belongs to Hotel Grand, the reception is located in the hotel, there is necessary to make a check-in, but after arriving to the pension you need to call the phone number, which is listed on the door and the man from the reception will come in a few minutes to hand over the room and keys. The whole thing went very smoothly and quickly. The room and the bathroom were clean, towels were ready, there was also a hair dryer. Buffet breakfast great, great choice of food. The lady who serves breakfast is extremely nice and helpful.
The bed and pillows were uncomfortable, we couldn't sleep properly. The water in the shower drained very slowly, after half a minute of showering the whole bathroom...
