Hi Friends, I would like to highlight a terrible incident that took place with us on 17th August 2019 when we took a Canal tour with Stromma. The incident occurred on Saturday 17th August in the evening. I along with my husband, seven year old son and 1 year old daughter took a canal cruise on one of Strommaās boats. We bought tickets from the Stromma counter and boarded the boat at around 5:40pm. This was a 1 hour Grand Tour which cost us DKK 238. The captain of the boat was Christian.
Barely 15 minutes into the tour, the captain stopped the boat. He came to us and to our shock asked us to deboard. He claimed that our one year old child was noisy and other passengers were apparently getting disturbed. While I admit that the kid got a bit cranky and that too only for a couple of minutes, but she is a one year old. We tried to reason out with Christian but he was adamant. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. He told us and I quote - āI want you off my boat, now.ā The tour guide from Stromma, who was on board, was equally taken aback by such appalling behavior of her colleague. She seemed apologetic but conveyed she was helpless herself. We were told to find our way back from this place, where we were deboarded, to the starting point of the tour where the Stromma ticket counter is and claim a refund.
So we walked back to the Stromma ticket counter, however our ordeal didnāt end there. The lady at the counter offered apologies and an email address for Stromma. She said being a weekend, there is no senior employee of Stromma available and there is nothing she can do about what happened with us.
Cannot express enough the humiliation we went through that evening. We got deboarded because our baby got restless for a few minutes in a city which takes pride in being kid-friendly. We were in Copenhagen from the 14th to the 18th and had a wonderful time in the city till that 17th evening. And that one evening ruined a great holiday. Since we had to fly back to Dubai on 18th (Sunday) afternoon, we did not have a chance to visit your office and complain in person.
The name of this captain was Christian, the most insensitive and pathetic individual I have ever come across. We as parents to an infant got this treatment.
We did take it up with Stromma, went till the CEO. The response in return was: The CEO had completed his investigation and was aware of the incident that had truely occured. He apologised and claimed that they cannot offer any sort of compensation. The only thing they can do is refund the money for the trip. He also claimed , he knows what happened was wrong but Christain wasn't in his senses while driving the boat.
So my question here is, how can they allow a captain who isn't in his senses to drive a boat with so many innocent lives at stake? So over and above the insensitivity, safety also becomes a huge issue here.
We asked the CEO for a compensation in light of the fact that our trip had been so wonderful. But this one evening ruined it all and he flatly refused.
My advise to all parents with infants, please do not take a Stromma tour with Christian in particular as you will be humiliated if your infants can't tape up their mouth and sit quietly, just like we were humiliated. The words stated by Christain were; 'Get off my boat right now.'
I also strongly see this to be an act of discrimination. Probably if we were not Indians, this wouldn't have happened with us. Copenhagen, the country that claims to be very child friendly, this is the treatment we got for being parents to an innocent infant.
Beware people!! Don't take the Stromma boat/Canal tour with Christian driving it and if you do that, take it at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMore staying than seeing. Well, the employees are nice and very friendly, thatās why one star. The rest is a trap. Most of the time, the bus is staying. If not In the traffic jam, it needs to make a break or kick out all the guests, so that he can drive empty away. Guests has to wait 15 till a other bus might be come. We made the mistake and went out for one station. Than we have to wait 30mins!!!! For an new bus. Sure we could walk, but not from the middle of nowhere. While we was waiting for the bus of that company, 6 Busses from a competitor company arrived already. The view stations was a lot of timewasting! :-)
BEWARE: there are 3 lines. Buying a ticket online, doesnāt inform you, that you can use your DAY ticket only for ONE line! Thatās a trap, thatās scam!
Soundquality was quite ok, if you found the right language. Excepting the information comes a bit delate, that you get informed, after you passing by the attraction.
The ānext stopā got announced by a other speaker system which sucks. You canāt here, what the stop means, so you have always check Google maps, where you are ā¦.
Got a quite better experience with the hop on hop off in other cities. I would try a guided bike tour, which...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAmazing best way to see the real charm of Copenhagen. Stromma Copenhagen City pass is one of the best ways to get acquainted with Copenhagen. You get the history of the city and a preview of areas you want visit later. Booked the bus very good tour and u can use the bus to travel about the city if you buy the 48 hour one, it also includes the canal boat tour. The hop on hop off facility allows for exploring and having transport home. We have done Hop on Hop off bus tours in many cities around the world and this was as good as any of the best we have done. The staff at the stops and on all of the buses were very friendly and could not have been more helpful. This tour made it easy to get to the major spots in Copenhagen. It is quite a long way to travel and not easy walking if not using the bus. The commentary really explains the major sights and it's a great way to decide what todo on your trip.I considered it excellent value for this very expensive city. If it stops near an hotel that you have booked before or after a cruise consider this as it stops at the cruise port cheaper than taxis plus the city tour. Friendly drivers and more...
