We were back at fuego to try their new menu. As always, it was amazing.
We tried everything that was new (literally). We decided to go on a feeding frenzy and ordered everything in a family style tasting...
The empanadas (shrimp this time) were so tasteful, juicy and a little bit of spicy. The halibut ceviche was super fresh. It came along with very thin slices of onion and red pepper, some melon spheres and coriander sprouts The pulpo (octopus) with ember-baked potatoes and chimichurri was mouthwatering. The surf and turf tartar was really nice to. I'm not a big fan of any S&T dish myself, but I cannot deny it was good. The manchego croquettes came along with a green salad dressed with a raspberry vinaigrette which I really enjoyed. Mollejas weren't new on the menu but one just cannot go to an Argentinian place and not have some, so we did ... Brilliant also
We had a Bonarda wine from Argentina to pair with this first round of food and it was really nice.
For a light main course we had:
Churrasco (Ribeye) that was garnished with beetroots, apple and cashew cream. The "cazadora" sauce brought everything together.
Cuadrado (the square) Wich is a slow smoke-cooked piece of "vacío" (flank steak) is for me the star of the night. It's originally intended as a sharing piece of beef which you can order to entertain your appetite before the main course but I ordered it with some confit vegetables and aligot and let me tell you ... It was perfection. The don't have many portions per day so try to call beforehand if you intend to try it... specially on weekends. I'm not gonna lie there were some fries and bearnaise around too.
This time we had a bottle of Cabernet Franc with the main.
We are committed... round 3... Dessert
We had a classic argentinian Dulce de leche ice cream for the nostalgic side. For the sweet tooth, a chocolate volcano with mango cream and passion fruit sorbet. And last but no least an Aperol dessert. This last one I highly recommend if you are not a huge fan of sweetness. It's a very faithful reinterpretation of the cocktail with a desserty twist. It's an Aperol jelly with prosecco foam and orange biscuits.
It's also important to mention that the staff was, as always, super friendly and serviceminded!
Highly...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Fuego in Copenhagen, and I must say that it was an experience to remember. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were met with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality. Fuego truly knows how to make their guests feel welcome.
The journey began with a carefully curated three-course menu that left us in awe. Each dish presented before us was a work of art, enticing both our eyes and our taste buds. The attention to detail in the presentation was remarkable, showcasing the culinary mastery of the chefs at Fuego.
What made this dining experience truly outstanding was the seamless pairing of exquisite Argentinian wines with each course. The staff's expertise in selecting the perfect wine to complement the flavors of the food was evident. It was a symphony of tastes that danced harmoniously on our palates, elevating the overall enjoyment of the meal.
Beyond the culinary delights, the ambiance of Fuego added another layer of enchantment to the evening. The restaurant exuded a warm and inviting atmosphere, making us feel right at home. The staff's knowledge and passion for the menu were evident as they guided us through each course, sharing the story behind the ingredients and the thought process behind the wine pairings. Their enthusiasm and dedication elevated the entire experience.
Fuego undoubtedly deserves top marks for its impeccable service, delectable cuisine, and exceptional attention to detail. It was a flawless 5 out of 5 experience, exceeding all expectations. While some may argue that fine dining experiences come at a premium, I firmly believe that Fuego's offerings are worth every penny.

Read moreI wanted to give this place a five stars - the food and service certainly warrants a top rating as this is one of the best steak places I have been to in Copenhagen. We had all the "real starters" (ie. no salad) and the steak, all top notch and the steak was cooked for each of us just as ordered. The wine pairing was spot on for each course and interesting enough to be a topic of conversation at the table.
If you are a walk-in, and love steak, I highly recommend this place.
Which brings us to the reason for the missing star. We booked one of the dining rooms for our party and to be honest, the communcation was a mess of half answered emails, where I was not really certain that we had agreed on a menu for the table. Or on when we should arrive as the automated booking system kept sending reminders for a different time than I had booked the room (I later found out that this was the time they had reserved the room internally)
When booking the room I was told that if we ordered the same menu for the entire table, we would get a reduced price - despite repeated requests for confirmation of the menu and what the price would be, I got no information on these two points. And when I called an hour before the dinner to sort this out a slightly confused person at the other end told me that the discount would be a welcome cocktail.
As I said, I really wanted to give this restaurant five stars. And I am thrilled to see that my guests at the dinner, who was spared the initial communication mess, have given it a well deserved top rating for the dining experience alone.
I will definitely return. But I probably wont order...
