Dear Carla,
Thank you for your response to my message.
While I appreciate your taking the time to reply, I must admit I find the tone of your message somewhat disappointing. Rather than acknowledging the possibility that there may be an issue with the formulation or performance of Lilyphéa, the response appears to deflect the concern back to the user’s skin chemistry or application method. For your infor, I tested the scents from your normal sized bottle not the sample.
As a long-time Diptyque customer who has used and loved many of your fragrances in Eau de Toilette form, I am very familiar with how your products typically behave on my skin and clothing. This is precisely why the experience with Lilyphéa stood out as so unusual—and disheartening. I did not expect an Eau de Parfum to be so fleeting, particularly when compared to your EDTs, which have lasted significantly longer in my experience.
I would have hoped for a more constructive engagement with the substance of my feedback, rather than a standard explanation that doesn’t quite address the core issue I raised. I offer this comment not out of dissatisfaction alone, but because I genuinely care about the brand and have held it in high regard for many years.
Thank you again for your attention, and I hope Diptyque will continue to listen closely to loyal clients who offer honest feedback with goodwill, and do recall the scent that is not up to standard rather than let it...
Read moreAs a Diptyque client in the USA for the last 3 years, I made the pilgrimage to the historic, original shop! I was surprised by how small the interior was. It did feel homey (wood paneling) and cosy…easy to imagine the founders building their design & decor business here. In fact the shop made me think of the old shop on San Francisco’s Maiden Lane as well as the Union Square shop…a feeling like going home. Curious about the interior? Wall-to-wall the shop was decorated with the emblems of various candle scents, counters and shelves covered with displayed testers or decorative items. It was totally immersive! The single saleswoman was helping an American customer so I had the freedom to peruse the products at my leisure. Later on a man came down the stairs to assist a little before a young lady was assigned to help me. Honestly, I felt let down in 2 areas: (1) I didn’t see a few of the holiday candle accessories which are already on sale back home and (2) I really didn’t feel helped by the staff. I was trying to keep in mind the weight of my purchases in my luggage. Candles are not lightweight items. I did narrow down what I really wanted (several candle accessories) and left somewhat satisfied. Happy to purchase Diptyque in the...
Read moreBefore our trip to Paris, I had already marked this store as a must-visit after reading that it was considered the most impressive of all Diptyque locations—possibly even its flagship. When we arrived, the store was surprisingly empty, making for a quiet and intimate shopping experience. However, within just ten minutes, the space was bustling with customers, which only reinforced its popularity.
I had previously sampled Diptyque’s Orphéon fragrance and instantly fell in love with it. While browsing, we took the opportunity to try several other scents, most of which were beautifully crafted and exuded sophistication. In the end, we decided to purchase the Eau de Parfum version of Orphéon. To my delight, the store manager surprised me with a travel-sized version of the fragrance as a thoughtful birthday gift from Diptyque, which made the experience even more special.
One thing I do regret, however, is forgetting to collect the tax refund form at the time of purchase. Unfortunately, when I later inquired, I was informed that they do not send these forms via mail. For any tourists planning to shop here, I highly recommend remembering to request your tax form at the store to avoid missing out on...
