The steak was rancid. - my daughter was lucky she didn't get sick I had dinner here with my 8 year old daughter and 11 year old son. The place was very busy so we thought it would have decent faire and not be a usual tourist trap. The service was friendly - although they were very busy. The appetizers were very good. However, when my daughter's steak turned up there was a very strong smell. Unfortunately, I didn't check and aS my daughter was starving she persevered. After the persistent smell I finally checked the steak and was horrified by the small - this was a rancid piece of meat that they tried to sneak out. My veal was as tough as an old shoe and I didn't end up eating it. My son's basque chicken was fine. I called over the waitress and the manager and they were both horrified and don't don't charge me - and offered a free dessert. Obviously the kitchen tried to sneak out rancid meat to a tourist - no pride in their work or respect for customers. Very...

I've been living in Paris for nearly 5 years and this is hands down my favourite restaurant. Open all day every day, friendly staff (the tall black guy is AWESOME) and great atmosphere. And they don't scorn me for bringing my toddler, which is rare in Paris. One time a server saw me making her a bottle and he asked if I wanted it heated up! I couldn't believe it! That has never ONCE happened in the 2 years of my daughter's life. So kid friendly is a big plus, but we do avoid peak hours. Like any popular french restaurant it can get tight, so dont be shocked if you bump elbows with your neighbors. And the food.. THE FOOD! I only ever get the Salade Complet or l'escalope de veau montignarde. I'm sure the rest of the dishes are to die for but I'm so happy with these two I've never been tempted to try anything else. You will leave here with a full belly and your wallet only slightly less full. They don't take reservations...

I have always loved the restaurant, the service at châtelet one is wonderful but we went this one in the summer celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday, and in the end I ordered a piece of cake and asked them to put a little candle there, pls noted I didn’t expect too much, I asked politely if they have, if they don’t have it or they don’t have this kind of service it’s alright. They told me they have it and would do it. So we sit there waiting for the nice moment coming but when it got served there’s no candle. Actually it’s been 5 months but I just still feel a bit disappointed that that moment was missed. I said it’s alright there when we pay but I understand it’s a small mistake but sometimes it could have been a small nice moment in other life’s . The food is good amount . Worth the money but the service could be better the communication between the employees...

Most of the time in Parisian restaurants you have to pay 50€ (or more) for 100g of pasta or for a 'filet avec legumes', and after that, you need to eat some dirty kebab to get full. It happens to me quite often when I try all these "degustation" in reputed restaurants where I always leave the place hungry with empty pockets. Sad, but true. That's definitely not the case at "Chez Gladines" guys. Definitely. You feel hungry? you wanna get full? Don't think about it, don't waste your time elsewhere with all the 'filet', the 'pavé' and all this stuff.... Chez Gladines you eat well without having to pay a fortune for it. The quality is ok and a very good value for money. And we are talking about the authentic basquaise kitchen. Try it out and you won't regret.

We had a very nice meal here. The staff was friendly enough and helpful in English. The menu has a QR code on it that when scanned with your phone will display a full menu in several other languages. We were a party of four that arrived around 20:15 and had no trouble getting a table. By 21:00 the place was packed with a mostly younger crowd. All of ya loved our dishes but the filet was a bit sinewy and fatty for Americans as we generally eat leaner cuts of meat. The flavor of the steak was excellent but don’t expect the cut to be the same as what you have in the US if you’re American. The rilette appetizer was amazing.
