Don’t understand the positive feedback in reviews, but maybe we were just less lucky. Maybe it was a bad day for chef, maybe all people on kitchen was watching football instead of cooking — who knows. We’re trying all Italian places in Tbilisi and it’s our top-2 bad one. Really bad.
At first, when we just came in, I noticed one thing — whole dining room was empty, no guests, and that was good for us. We sat down, everything was nice, except for one dirty table that no one was cleaning for 20 minutes since we arrived (who knows how long it was like thar before we arrived). And waitresses definitely had time to clean it before. She was watching tiktoks or shorts considering by sounds 💀 No pressure, that’s okay, but she definitely could’ve cleaned this one poor table.
She took our order firstly, then went back, because she forgot it, and went back for the third time to take a picture of our list that we ordered (I’m making notes with ordered food to remember them and then discuss all tastes with my boyfriend who is eating with me).
We ordered four positions (149 gel). I don’t have pictures, but it doesn’t matter — food actually looks not bad (but far from their instagram quality), standard nice portions. But taste?
First one was Spaghetti Carbonara. In instagram picture there was a lot more guanchalle in it, in reality — three or four overcooked pieces. Taste was bad, not even homemade quality — pasta was far from al dente, and sauce was definitely made not according to the right recipe. There were lumps of egg yolk in the sauce, which meant it was already starting to curdle. And also pasta was too salty. At least they’re not using bacon I think, it tasted different, but using the right meat — guanchalle. Cheese? I’m not sure if it really was Parmesan or Pecorino.
Second dish — Pizza Toscanno.
Pizza was just a mid quality. Just a mid. Can’t say anything. Meat tasted like average Nikora one. Cheese was nice, dough too.
Third one — xxxl ravioli with truffle sauce.
I haven’t tried that one because I don’t like truffles, but my boyfriend actually said it was nice. Still “nice” — not amazing. The best dish from that dinner, but 1 good from 4 is actually sad.
Fourth one — risotto al gamberi.
Not bad, not good. Just still mid. Four shrimps (actually nice), but on a big plate out looked like they just tried to spread rice all over it to make the portion look bigger, and four small shrimps looked hilarious on such a big plate. 2 starts only for risotto and for ravioli.
Also — no card with drinks (precisely, they have it, but it’s handwritten one, everything is written crookedly and they didn't even try to make it look neat and tidy)
And also no link for menu in their instagram page. Their first post was made in 2019 — Is it really impossible to create a simple electronic menu with pictures in five years?
But atmosphere at restaurant is actually very nice. Everything is good — 5 starts for atmosphere.
At the end of the speech — not the worst place, still better than Bruno in Vake, but definitely never gonna...
Read moreme and my wife went on a date here, will definitely come again. the place is absolutely awesome, it’s the best we have ever been to, the service is really good the staff was nice and they paid attention to us. the atmosphere was really cozy and romantic just perfect for s good date night with your partner. the food was delectable, we tried the pizza and pasta carbonara both were just perfect, proportional with no overwhelming tastes to it like other place have, next time we come we will definitely try their tiramisu. we have tried a-lot of pizzas and we can proudly say, that this one was just perfect, we don’t have anything to complain about, the dough was just perfectly thin, soft and fluffy at the same time, the crust was just flawless too, it was crunchy and not burnt, the ingredients were very fresh and it was brought to us pretty quickly, like 10 minutes after we ordered it, carbonara was really creamy and cheesy, its perfect for cheese lovers, we absolutely loved it. overall it was an awesome experience and we will definitely come here again and most likely many times, just an awesome place for cute and cozy dates, will definitely recommend, me and my wife loved it. although it was pricy but it was worth every single penny, you pay for the perfect experience and food, so its definitely worth it. this is the first time we gave the restaurant 5 stars in every aspect, thanks to the staff for this amazing...
Read moreI went there with two Georgian friends and my dad. The food is authentic and very Italian which is a rare thing to find in Tbilisi. I also liked the ambience of the restaurant even though the music was a little too loud and not really Italian. So, why only two stars??? The answer is the bill as a horrible surprise as a last course. The issue is that they don't offer a wine list or any price for the wines on the menue. Instead, they told me they only had two (Italian) whites of which one was dry. I tasted a sip of the Gewurztraminer from Alto Adige and was quite pleased. Consequently, I ordered it. In all three glasses which were reluctantly filled to approx 0.1 l each. So, make an educated guess what I paid for one???- 36 GEL!!! That resulted in 108 GEL or 30€ for 0.3 l of wine! And that in Georgia! one of the cheapest countries in the world! Where most of the people hardly make more than 300€ a month! And it was not the rooftop terrace of the Ritz Carlton, but a admittedly nice little restaurant in the old town. And I was accompanied by Georgian friends who were shocked and ashamed after the dinner! Guys, you need to treat your customers fairly, even if one of them is a German. Not every Western guy is a millionaire. If you want to survive with your business go and get a proper wine list with a selection of Italian and Georgian wines! Then whoever is crazy enough can decide for the "premium"...
