We could not fault this hotel - not just its location but the hospitality of staff was outstanding. ||Arriving at the hotel at around 2am after our flight from the UK, the instructions to access our room were simple and straightforward. We stayed in a family room on the ground floor (very handy when arriving very late!) and it was perfect for the 3 of us, a comfortable double bed and a single for our daughter…together with a sofa, kitchenette and dining area. The bathroom was very modern and stylish, and the room even had an extra area with built-in wardrobes and a safe.||It’s very centrally located indeed - a 3 minute walk to both the Acropolis Museum and entrance to the Acropolis slopes; it’s also just off the main drag up to Plaka so restaurants, bars and shops are aplenty. The day we arrived was a national day in Greece (in fact all over the Catholic world), so supermarkets were shut - there is a small mini mart just around the corner which actually sells a lot of basics.||We didn’t opt for ordering breakfast through the hotel but in hindsight, probably should have done! The room and hotel felt safe, was impeccably clean and the beds very comfortable.||However, the best thing about this hotel isn’t the furnishings or its location, it’s the staff - particularly George and Yianna, but also the cleaners (who very happily gave us more coffee pods!). Both George and Yianna are the nicest representation of Greek locals you could possibly hope to meet, nothing was too much trouble - there is always fresh coffee, juice and water in Reception plus cookies and sweets, and they encourage you to enjoy these amenities. ||We left the hotel to go on a 1-week cruise and when we struggled to find luggage storage when we returned to Athens, we messaged the hotel who were only too happy to store our bags for us for a few hours before our flight…not only that, but gave us space to freshen up, sort our bags and encouraged us to stock up on snacks and enjoy a coffee - just the most hospitable people! ||This is certainly accommodation we will recommend to anybody travelling to Athens and when we return, we know where we will book - highly...

Read moreIn all honesty, Acropolis Stay was the reason our stay in Athens was enjoyable from start to finish! We were here during my first trip to Europe, visiting ten cities in four countries. Out of all of them, Athens took the first-place spot - no question about it! Special mention goes to Yianna (sorry if I didn't spell your name correctly)! If it weren't for Yianna, Athens would not have felt as magical and welcoming. It truly felt like a home away from home.
We will never forget her hospitality, as well as the warmth of the Greeks we met nearby. She gave us tips and advice that came in handy later and even helped save us some money. Acropolis Stay was close to all the attractions we wanted to check out. We did not feel like we needed to rely on public transit to get around.
The bedroom, kitchenette, and bathroom were very clean and I loved the smell of the hair products. There was always foot traffic right below our bedroom window, but we found it to be relatively peaceful and quiet. The only loud sounds we heard came from the other hotel guests who talked in the hallways.
We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone...
