There is no where to park at the hotel if youre thinking of taking a car but the hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the Acropolis Metro station. The Acropolis metro station is approx 1hr 15-30 from the airport taking the M3 (blue) line from the airport and changing to the M2 (red) line at Syntagma and the cost is 10 euros each. At Acropolis station take the lift to street level, turn right out of the lift and then take the first right into Chatzichristou and then the second left into Mitseon and the hotel is just on the right. There are a number of steps from the street to reception which can be difficult with a heavy suitcase but there's a lift from reception to the upper floors. Check in was very quick & efficient and the receptionist was very helpful about places nearby. Our room of 307 was on the third floor and it had a balcony but there was only a view to a local street. Unfortunately there were only single beds but we had a decent nights sleep, The room wasnt huge and it could have been brighter but it was fine for sleeping in. The bathroom was small but it had all the essentials and the shower was fine. There was a good selection for breakfast - not much hot food just small frankfurters and boiled eggs - although it could get very crowded at popular times so best to go early ie before 8:30 There are loads of restaurants and eating places only 5 minutes from the hotel - our favourites being Mani-Mani and Strofi - and the hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk to the entrance to the Acropolis and the New Acropolis Museum is less than 5 minutes walk away. We found the hotel to be a perfect base for our time in Athens and would definitely recommend it to people.

The hotel is truly exceptional. Situated in the heart of Athens, it offers convenient access to all cultural landmarks within a leisurely 20-minute walk. Although the hotel is in the centre, it's super quiet, there are almost no cars crossing the street. Opting for a room with a balcony facing the Acropolis exceeded my expectations – the location was not only practical but also surprisingly spacious. The staff maintained impeccable cleanliness throughout our stay. The breakfast selection was good, though unfortunately, we didn't have the chance to sample the lunch or dinner dishes. However, judging by the dedication of all the staff, I'm confident they're equally delightful. The employees were consistently kind and responsive. We encountered a minor disturbance with several loud ladies in the room next to ours - the reception promptly addressed the issue at 2 at the night, bringing an immediate end to the noise. The hotel commits to eco-friendly practises which I find it to be really great. Overall, my experience was superb. As a frequent visitor to Athens, I undoubtedly plan to choose this hotel for my future stays.

Location is perfect. 5 minute walk to the Acropolis Museum which is across from the entrance to the Theatre of Dionysus and the Acropolis. The Acropolis train station is also a 5 minute walk and is in front of many restaurants and shops. The rooms were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. It is true that the rooms are very small and the beds are stiff (from U.S perspective) but there were bed toppers and it helped. I stayed in a room on the 4th floor overlooking the street and you can see on the pictures in this review to see what you can expect. I do think that the walls or the door are thin enough to hear any noise in the hallway as I could hear the maids vacuuming the rooms near by and the families with kids coming in and out. The little terrace is really nice and has a great view of the Acropolis. 5/5 for location, 4/5 for comfort

Three star hotel near Acropolis and metro, with friendly, English speaking staff. The hotel is a few minute walk from the Acropolis metro station, so you can take the metro from the airport, switch line in Syntagma station and you're there. The view on the rooftop garden is amazing, since you can see Acropolis and the surrounding area, but the rooftop garden itself wasn't as nice as seen on pictures. The Hotel breakfast (on the first floor) was adequate and filling, but if you do not want to pay there is a bakery and coffee shop right next door. The neighborhood is friendly.

The rooms were small, but if you do not plan to spend time there it's enough. They were clean, but I'm not sure how carefully they were cleaned during our stay. Some of the rooms have a balcony, and I think all of them have air conditioning. Also worth mentioning, even though they have a free Wi-Fi, it is not suitable for working, since it is slow. It's more suitable for casual surfing on the web.

As for dining opportunities, Philippos does not have a restaurant of it's own, but their partner hotel (Herodion) has. It's quite expensive, fine dining. Otherwise, there are plenty of good restaurants nearby and cafes/bars (within 5 minute walking distance).

To sum it up: The hotel is located in a friendly neighborhood, it has friendly and professional staff and it's walking distance from most of the sights and it has clean rooms. My visit was 5/5.

Edit: Added the name of the partner...

It was a HORRIBLE experience at Philipos Hotel.. We didn't find what we expected at the hotel and the pictures are not like the reality! We booked a Twin room with a view on the Acropolis. But they gave us a VERY basic room without any service and without a view on the main street. Everything is missing in the room: Dental kit, vanity kit, slippers, etc. We told them in the first night about the issu and asked for a better room, and they said they don't have another room. In the morning of the second day, we asked them again and they said that there is no available room, then and in the evening we asked them again arguing that the room smell bad also.. Then they agreed to give us another room but it was 100% the same.. Similar to the first one. We were in room 206 and changed it to roome 208 in the second night. It And the hotel gave us another room which is 100% similar to the first room (veey small, bad small, bad view, etc). No comb, no vanity kit, no slippersWe booked a room with a view in Acropolis. But they gave us a room with no street view at all and with no view on Acropolis. When we askes them several time.. They said that it waa just a picture of a room with Acropolis's view on the booking website!Stay away...
