Marathakis Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Chania

Booked in August, arrived 20th September late evening - 11.30pm and we were left in the street! No one there to meet or greet us. No reception. No notes or instructions anywhere. The place looked closed. We rang the phone number for the apartment owner and it rang out. We checked every area and doors of the apartments to look for a key or an instruction note to no avail. Our online holiday company were not available until 9am the next morning. After travelling since 10am that day, we were left abandoned in the darkness. |Thankfully we had no children or disabled family members with us. Thousands of miles from home, we were distressed and had to find accommodation urgently, at an additional cost. As we didn't sleep much, we emailed the Marathakis owner in the early hours of 21st September and we did not receive a reply. We continued to ring and it rang out. We contacted our holiday company at 9am the following morning and they too tried, but still no response. Nevertheless we had to sort accommodation and find cash to pay. We passed Marathakis apartments daily and attempted to catch the owner, but without success. |The place continued to look closed and we took photographs for evidence. It's 3rd October and we are home, we never received a reply, apology or explanation. Yesterday on the 2nd October, we sent one last email to give the proprietor a chance to respond - no reply. |Book this apartment at your own risk, we wouldn't wish the distress we encountered on any...

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Marathakis Apartments. The location is great with several nice sandy beaches a short walk away and the bustop a few minutes away for Chania town.There are also shops and restaurants close by. The apartments are cleaned every day by a very pleasant lady. I would recommend contacting the lovely owner George in advance by phone, as you will need to make arrangements about where your keys will be waiting for you.l shall definitely be...

Esperienza negativa, struttura abbandonata e molto lontana dalla realtà indicata nelle foto.

Grazie alla professionalità della nostra agenzia siamo stati spostati dopo due giorni di calvario in un altro appartamento e finalmente abbiamo cominciato le vacanze a Creta.

Wifi inutilizzabile, reception abbandonata e nessuna persona presente sul posto. Sono comparsi solo dopo diverse chiamate dell’agenzia per consegnare un asciugacapelli, asciugamani e riscontrare la situazione. Infissi danneggiati, bagno allucinante e perdita idraulica, terrazzo inutilizzabile per caduta di materiale fuligginoso dal tetto e pelo di gatto compreso sulle sedie, pulizia molto approssimativa.
Più che un residence sembra una cantiere abbandonato. Tra le altre cose cucina con elettrodomestici danneggiati e molto sporchi, il terrazzo da su una piazza su cui passano continuamente autobus a tutte le ore della notte. Ingresso della struttura composto da un tavolo di plastica e un distributore di merendine. Se cercate sulla destra ci trovate in bella vista anche una trappola per topi.
