Hector Cave House — Hotel in Municipality of Thira

We stayed in the 'Nest' which is the top most house out of the 3. It's the smallest one but that makes it the most romantic and coziest for couples. The views are unbelievably incredible and even though it's in the really busy area of Oia, you can't hear anything from inside. Even sitting on the terrace, the noise is very minimal.

Our arrival experience with the ferry and transfer to Oia was very hectic and overwhelming, but Dana and her husband waited for us and we couldn't be more grateful to them. Absolutely amazing customer service. They met us at the post office and immediately took all of our luggage and walked us to the house. Dana explained everything so well and gave us some great recommendations about the area which we really appreciated. Our plans for the checkout day were somewhat abnormal because we were taking an overnight ferry and they did their best to help us with a later checkout and Anastasia helped to arrange a car rental for us that we could use for the day and then drop off at the port before we left. Just really incredible people who go out of their way to help with everything.

The house itself was beautiful and so clean. It's located just a few steps away from the busiest sunset viewpoints so you do have to be prepared that it's going to be packed with tourists everywhere you go. It's annoying if you hate crowds and people standing around waiting for that perfect Instagram picture, but we knew this was the case with Oia so we didn't let it bother us. We were there for the view too! Can't recommend this...

We recently spent 10 spectacular days at the Hector Cave House on our 6th trip to Santorini over the past 20 years and it truly exceeded our expectations. The apartment was very spacious, extremely clean and well maintained, ideally situated and had an incredible view as well as great seating outdoors and plunge pool to enjoy it. The apartment was expertly serviced by Donna and Demetri who not only did a spectacular job each day but were delightful to talk with. Donna’s recommendations and information in general were so helpful. ||We also had the opportunity to meet the owner Giannis. We had originally selected this apartment due to the incredible (and accurate) photographs as well as Giannis’ responsiveness to various questions during our booking process. We were delighted to meet him when he visited Santorini from his home in Athens and made the effort to meet us in person.||There was literally nothing Giannis and his staff did not anticipate a guest would need. ||Having stayed in scores of VRBO’s across the US; this was our first experience in one internationally. We were totally impressed with every aspect of our experience; so glad we chose this route versus a hotel and were so thankful we chose Hector Cave House. We cannot recommend it...

We booked and paid for 3 nights in a luxury Cave When we arrived we were taken to the Nest which is approx half the price After the first night we asked the Manager Faye to move us to the correct room but she said it was not possible She had actually sold the room to someone else so it truly was not possible She said it was a genuine mistake and I understand mistakes happen Faye said she would call her Boss to discuss the matter She phoned in our presence and immediately upon hanging up offered us the first two nights complimentary but we would be required to move to our correct room for the final night Although this discussion and moving was stressful, time consuming and disappointing we accepted the offer A few hours later the barrage of WhatsApp messages ensued including wanting to meet us at 10pm on a Saturday when my husband and I were just getting back from dinner! She coerced us into cancelling our booking so they did not have to pay commission to the booking site and then refunded 1nights accommodation Very unprofessional way to conduct themselves Can’t wait to go back to Oia and literally stay...
