I emailed the hotel multiple times before my arrival, hoping to get check-in instructions, but not a single email was returned. Upon arriving, we stood outside in the heat for 45 minutes, struggling to get any help. When we finally reached someone on the phone, they were incredibly rude and dismissive, questioning how they were supposed to know we were coming, despite our confirmed reservation and emails.||||Determined not to let this ruin our trip, we tried to enjoy the day. But when we went to bed around midnight, we woke up a few hours later, drenched in sweat because the power had gone out. We contacted the manager, who responded with sarcasm and told us to make videos of the complete darkness as “proof.” I even uploaded a YouTube video documenting the situation to provide evidence. The manager didn’t show up until two hours later, only to inform us there was nothing he could do. He claimed there were no available rooms, even though rooms were showing as available online—but apparently, they were being held for people paying in cash.||||I recently had surgery, and this situation became a serious health issue for me. Despite explaining the severity of the issue, and despite the so-called manager bragging about owning over 200 properties, he refused to offer any assistance or alternative accommodations. Even when I told him that my prescribed medication needed refrigeration, he offered no solutions and just left us hanging.||||To make matters worse, he contacted the police, falsely claiming that we were trying to break into the hotel—this after we had already checked in the day before! Instead of enjoying my vacation, I had to seek medical attention due to my knee swelling from the stress and the heat. We missed all of our planned activities because we were too busy dealing with this nightmare. My medication was ruined, and I had to urgently contact my doctor in the U.S. to try to arrange a replacement.||||Horizon Aeifos Suites may have beautiful views and a stunning location, but that’s where the positives end. The customer service was abysmal, and the person who claimed to be the owner or manager—who, as we later found out, was neither—should be fired immediately. Read moreThe hotel is in a perfect location in Oia. Spacious room with an amazing terrace overlooking the caldera for a very reasonable rate. That is the good news. Unfortunately checking in was VERY difficult. We arrived at the property after lugging our bags quite a distance up and down the steps of Oia only to find the front entrance of the property locked. Calls placed to the number provided were unanswered. We sat on our bags in the heat for quite a while attempting to reach the desk for about 30 minutes until I decided to start walking the property asking other guests for help. We eventually stumbled upon the property manager who was apologetic but not overly concerned about our experience. The manager seemed to be the only person working at the property and was very friendly and helpful, but clearly overwhelmed. The breakfast delivered each morning was very good, but we were asked for our menu choices the first day and then received the exact same breakfast everyday with no way to ask for something different. I would still recommend the property, but I hope the ownership will address the obvious...
